"A suspenseful, dark, coming of age tale of a teenager who must learn to navigate between the worlds of everyday life and of Fairy. The language is rich and the enjoyable twists of plot will keep you guessing."

"Ancient smashes head-on into modern in Timothy Roderick's strangely clever and enchanting debut young adult/fantasy .... Definitely snarky and weird, sometimes dark, and packed with plenty of extraordinary twists and turns, Roderick has retooled such fairytales as Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella into a suspenseful, wry, modern magical mystery.... Reminiscent and just as entertaining as Mary Janice Davidson... Roderick leaves the door open for more wildly wonderful Briar Blackwood magic!"
--Sirona Knight, author of Faery Magick and The Shapeshifter Tarot

Roderick maintains the perfect and delicate balance between classic myth and lore and modern day life situations, between dark twisted fantasy, and irreverently lighthearted humor. Characters all had their flaws as well as their endearing aspects as well.
I have already recommended this book to several people describing it as 'what you love about our cherished childhood literature with a whole new flavor'.... even to the point that it makes you rethink how you always saw these chracters, and what lessons you learned from these fairytales.
Ah now to decide... fact, fiction... and most of all the author has us walking between the worlds, between eras in time....
A wonderously fabulous reading adventure!
