(Spoiler if not a weak one - ahead)
Another thing that bothered me were the plot holes. One that bothered me a lot was the fact that Ganry early on int he series claimed his Father was dead. That is how I took it anyway as his Father was poisoned by his step mother. The author goes into some detail about this but then towards the late half of the series we find out his Father is alive. I had to re-read both sections multiple times to make sure I was reading this correctly. There were a couple of plot holes in this series.
And towards the end of the last book I was at 90% complete and IMO it was still early in the story for the fight against what I assumed to be the last great evil for our characters to face. I thought to myself, how is the author going to fit in enough content with only 10% of the book left? Well I will tell you how; he rushed through to the end at lightening speed making what should have been a real challenge for the characters (I mean c'mon this is the main evil character here and deserves more story, more trials, more conflict) but this last great evil turns out to be nothing to worry about at all. For an evil character that is built up so much I would think there would be more of a challenge but in the end the last 10% of the series rushes through and leaves me the reader wanting. The book ends so suddenly. I didn't believe it was the end other than looking at the authors page thanking me for reading.
Anyway i think this author has the ability to write but this series tells me the author has a ways to go before he is writing anything great. I wish him luck but I will most likely avoid anything written by him int he future.
Choppy prose that evolved into some weird wording that sounded like it came from dark ages England.
Won't be reading more from this writer.
Good luck in your future. I hope I can continue to be involved in this endeavour till it's conclusion. It is becoming awfully hard to write these reviews if I have to use more words than are in my vocabulary.
