This is a wonderful and uplifting book about Oscar Pistorius' journey, the obstacles he faced, and how he adapted to succeed. Everyone should read this book! Oscar sums it up best- "Your not disabled by the disabilities you have, you are able by the abilities you have".

I read this after I saw Oscar Pistorius at the Olympics, and I'm glad I bought it. It's a good, quick read about his life from his birth to 2009 when this book originally came out. It's amazing to learn how his parents came to the decision to amputate him as an infant, and how he learned to live his life to the fullest, despite his physical limitations. It's truly inspiring, and a great read for parents of children with disabilities, kids with disabilities, athletes, and fans of Oscar. Great book and great man. 5 stars.

I was very interested in finding out about Oscar Pistorius after the murder of his girlfriend in his home. This book was a great read and gave me lots of insight into his family, upbringing and life experiences that shaped his personality. I enjoyed all the personal family details of his life to try to imagine how he got to the situation he is currently in. Highly recommend~

I bought this book as a gift for a high school runner who, like Oscar Pistorius, is a double below-the-knee amputee. While the book is not necessarily great literature, he found it to be very inspirational. He found Pistorius to be a good role model for a young runner.

He's not the best writer in the world, but he definitely paints the picture. And it inspires you to do better not only in sporting activities but in life in general. Everyone would benefit from reading this book I think, even if not into sport. Oscar has a great attitude to life!
