The Ingredients of Smolder Aftershave: Aloe Vera Juice Witch Hazel Distillate Vegetable Glycerin Polysorbate 20 Phenoxyethanol Caprylyl Glycol (Preservative) Fragrance: Smolder
Add 3-4 drops into your hand and rub/splash evenly into the desired shave area. Because it is alcohol free and has the moisturizing qualities of glycerin, it is milky and needs to be shaken before each use.

Seriously though, others have tried to describe the scent. It's difficult to do. It's true that there is a strong scent of vanilla when first applied. But its not an overly feminine vanilla and has a darker characteristic to it. There is an earthy scent that lingers underneath, and the scent "matures" well over the minutes and hours that follow application.
The scent lasts most of the day as well. I find that after applying it, while not as strong, I'll still catch hints of it on my skin up to about 10-12 hours after application. I've read some complaints in the reviews that there isn't enough in the bottle for the money. You DO NOT need to bathe in the stuff. Really, a few drops is all that is needed. I've also read some people's reviews say that there isn't any evidence that it does anything other than add a fragrance to your skin. I disagree. While it doesn't have the burn of alcohol (seriously, why do you want your face to burn? That feeling, to me, is most closely associated with cheap products), you can definitely feel it on application leaving the skin tightened, soothed, and refreshed. It just works.
It might not be for everyone. No scent or product is. But, for me, it's a great little luxury that I will continue to go with for the foreseeable future. And, compared to some after shave products, it really is reasonably priced. Sure, it's definitely more costly than picking up some cheap drugstore post shave products... but it's not like you're breaking the bank here either. And a bottle should last for a few months if you're not bathing in it. I'm sure most of us can manage a $10 price bump over the "cheap stuff" over a few month period. Just leave the extra cheese off of your whopper or something.
Give it a shot. I'm willing to bet that most of you readers will be impressed. Really, I'll be shocked if you've read this far anyway... but if you have... just add it to your cart and give it a go.
Using aftershaves has always been an exercise in medicinal burns and smells. Not anymore, this stuff shakes up to a nice color in the old-timey bottles, once you get it all shaken, splash a little on your hands and rub that face down. It provides much needed conditioning and has a smell that draws the opposite sex (or same sex if that is your thing, I don't judge) and gets the best compliments.
A true Man's scent without being too frilly or too "chainsaw oil and a pack of smokes" kind of scent (unless you are into frilly and chainsaws, again, I don't judge)
After using it for a while, I can say this: I love the scent. It is a warm vanilla with some citrus hints and I enjoy the way it smells. It's a shame that it dissipates so quickly.
My main gripe came after doing some further research on shaving products...while I enjoy the scent, if I had known about the availability of other "artisan" type aftershaves in various scents and their price points, I would have passed on this. You can get three to four times as much product in a bottle at the same price from many highly regarded folks. I won't be re-purchasing this product.
I have not received any product(s) for or from this endorsement.
