If you've played this game on Xbox or PS3, you'll be at home with the visuals. There really isn't anything new to see even though the game offers you some options. Aside from better FSAA and higher resolutions, its pretty much the same game. There is not a whole lot more you can do to make sprites look better. Why Aksys hasn't jumped on this for the US market, who knows. Maybe they don't feel it will sell well on the PC market. I contacted them and they said there are no plans to release an official US version. Which is unfortunate because if released for a discounted price as a downloadable game via Steam/etc, it would likely sell well. Especially since SFIV PC players are getting no love from Capcom.
Action is fast and fluid but you'll want a gamepad of some kind to play it as keyboard will be awkward. The game is very much set to go with Xbox 360 pad and it works without having to bind all the keys manually. There is cross platform play against Xbox players advertised so in a way, PC players would have an advantage if they can rig the game with keybinds for all their moves.
Those who want the updates from Continuum Shift will be left out. This is a straight port of the original game. However, if you have been wanting some of the gallery pictures, this should provide easy access via just simple screenshot taking. All in all, being a fan of the game on console, this was a great deal. While waiting for it to arrive was a pain, I always had my console versions to keep me company till then.Read more ›
For one as mentioned above, PC fighters are RARE. It's a genre almost completely left to consoles so to see any legitimately appear on PC is a miracle every time. If you don't have (or want) a console to play these sorts of games your options are VERY limited. I can only recall Street Fighter IV and Guilty Gear XX and Isuka before this game so adding BlazBlue to the mix is totally an excellent choice in such a dry field for the PC.
BlazBlue is an anime styled 2D fighter that succeeds Arc System Works' Guilty Gear franchise in play style and flair. The game is fast, well animated and with a small (only 12 in this iteration) but differiated cast of fighters. The PC version doesn't bring many added features aside from higher resolutions, AA, cross platform play with the Xbox 360 version of Calamity Trigger and extra color pallettes (which were DLCs on consoles.)
The PC version uses Games for Windows Live to achieve cross platform play but as for the DRM, seems to just be a disc in drive game; nothing much malicious past that. At this point you're either a PC player who loathes and fears GfWL or accepts it and has no qualms. The game runs fine and doesn't have particularly absurd requirements. It also runs about as flawlessly as the console versions with little to no differences or hiccups.
While I could've been content with the DD version I went the retail route just to support the effort. I played BlazBlue a lot on consoles with friends and I would love to see more fighters of this caliber come to PC, especially in the US. This is a fighter worth supporting on PC.
It was very easy to open and the was no damage upon delivery.
The only thing i dislike about this game in general is that you have to keep the disk in the computer to be able to play and now days all you have to do is install the game and play with out the disk. 1 more thing i dislike and none of my dislikes are directed at the company . There just things in general that i dislike, anyway when your installing the game you will notice that the game will run at 31 frames per second which i found weird so i did a little research and i found out that the game actually does run at 60 fps all you have to do to get it to run at the 60 fps is to restart your pc or laptop.
I would really like to recommend this game to anyone who is into fighting games its a great game and it looks awesome.
Also to any fighting game collector its always good to have the original game plus you can only get this in the uk so it would probably be rare one day just like Gears Of War.

Ugh. This dammed port cost me about 5 hours of my life. I tried installing it, twice. It seemed to install, though it took for freaking ever to do so, but when I finally tried to... Read morePublished on April 5, 2013 by I. Nevas
Firstly, I want to say that my game came in weeks before it was supposed to and I loved that. The game works just fine, regardless being from the UK. The game is very fun overall. Read morePublished on July 23, 2012 by D. S. Watkins
