Product Description

The Blazer ES1000 Stingray butane torch is an angled-head, refillable gas torch that creates a precise flame emitting from a nozzle head, allowing direct heat application to an object. It is used for detailed purposes such as brazing, plumbing, soldering, jewelry making, and culinary, dental and lab applications.

The ES1000 has an angled-head and slim body shape, for ease of use. It has a gas-flow adjustment lever, for flame length control. Its torch flame is adjustable from yellow to more precise, and hot, blue flame. It features a tabletop stand for hands-free work.

The torch houses a piezoelectric ignition system, which is based on a pressurized molecular reaction, and requires no electric connection. Piezoelectric energy occurs when the trigger is activated, releasing a small, spring-loaded internal hammer that strikes a crystal, producing a spark and resulting in gas flame ignition.

With a maximum flame temperature of 2,500 degrees F, the ES1000 has a continuous burn time of approximately 30 minutes, at maximum fuel volume, and has an 8-gram gas capacity. The torch head is angled, and its flame range is 0.5 to 3.0 inches. It has a safety component that offers manual lock of the ignition, when not in use. It measures 6.0 (l) x 3.0 (w) x 2.5 (d) inches, weighs 5.5 ounces and has a black body finish. This product is intended strictly for use in professional and industrial environments. In accordance with federal regulations, home use of this product is prohibited.

Since 1985, Blazer Products has created an array of professional and industrial tools and equipment. Located in Farmingdale, NY, the company manufactures a variety of micro torches and ultrasonic cleaners. Blazer Products is known worldwide for its original micro torch products.

The ES1000 Stingray Torch operates with a standard butane canister (sold separately).

I am a Jewelry designer. I have been one for close to 30 years. I've had big tanks with all the gauges and tubing and the are good it you do large pieces of jewelry. My work is very delicate so I don't need anything with a huge flame. I have been using
one of these for about 8 years now and when mine died I called the manufactor. They said it was sold on Amazon. I jumped right on it. The price is reasonable and you can solder bezels, jump rings and do jewelry repairs with it plus butane is easely obtainable. I give this product 5 stars.Prefect for beginners and for those of us who having been doing it for eons.

I have owned three of these torches over the last 12 years. The "Thumb click to operate" style is by far the best, compared to the dual control models (turn on gas, then ignite). I have no idea why ALL of their models do not operate in this manner. I sadly acknowledge that this is one of the finest on the market. Why "sadly"? Because if this is the best the market can do, then someone needs to step in and design a truly "Rolls-Royce" quality tool of this type -- for which I would gladly pay twice the price. All three of those I've owned eventually fail to ignite. The lastest one I have has simply stopped igniting, even though it still generates a spark and it burns just fine when lighted with a second flame. And yes, I am using ONLY the fuel supplied by Blazer.

Asided from the inexplicable lack of ignition, I am simply amazed that the folks at Blazer have still not seen the merit of providing a model with a totally transparent, full view fuel tank. I despise having to carry a fuel can to every job site simply because I cannot be sure when this torch will run out of fuel.

I have lost all faith in Piezo crystal ignition. I would love to see the re-emergence of electronic ignition (driven by a small battery and totally silent.)

In general, I would love to see a model identical to this one in all respects EXCEPT in half the size, with a transparent tank and a detachable stand-up base, along with a way to clean it in case it stops igniting, even in the presence of a spark.

I bought this micro torch for use in making jewelry - primarily in melting sterling silver wire. Unlike some of the less expensive ones available, this model does not have a plastic head that can melt during long use. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is that it does not have any meter to show you when you are running low of fuel. I spent about 15 minutes trying to melt a piece of silver the other night, and gradually became aware that the torch was not heating up enough because it was low on fuel. 15 minutes is just 15 minutes but if you use a tool every day, that can add up. Blazer, please add a way to tell when the torch is full and when it needs refilling, and you will have a 5 star product.

I'm a jewelry designer and I've been happy using this product until yesterday it suddenly died. Couldn't have picked a better timing to die, in Christmas season! I refilled and it still would not ignite well. The only fire I got lasted less than a second. I can't send it back to the manufacturer since it's warrantied for a year only and I've had this for about 14 months! Disappointed. I expected this would work better than the $20 - 30 models I've had (different brands) but all of them stopped working just a little over a year. What a bummer!

Great while it lasted. I used it moderately for making balled pins, for annealing, and such (so far I only do cold connection jewelry). Probably in average of 10 times a day ignited.

Guess I'll go back to the cheaper models. Not worth paying more on something that would just die after a year of use.

Very nice torch, well made and works good. From a 4 inch yellow to a 1 inch blue flame--This puppy won't go out on you in the wind. I'm using 5x filtered butane, I'd go with at least triple filtered. Need more than just a lighter? Try this Blazer.

This is a wonderful torch! I got it for jewelry-making and other crafts and it does the job very well. It is made with the kind of good quality you would expect from Japan.

As a side note, the back of this torch may dig into your hand a bit, depending on your grip (or if you are wearing gloves).

I burned through 2 other less expensive torches rather quickly. The Blazer Spitfire continues to work. Flame control is good - there is O2 control as well as flame size control. I highly recommend the Blazer Spitfire for soldering and smaller gauge fusing.

First to let you know, I am a Japanese fan who worships good Jap products, and I try my best to stay away from cheap imitation products. I am a handy type of guy and I always find some fix-up jobs at home to keep my wife happy, or modify things around my gauges. A portable torch is a must-have tool for people like me!!

Pro:
-Decent built quality, made in Japan!
-Quick safety release; it is hidden (actually hard to find by a stranger), and can be unlocked by one-hand operation.
-Two flame condition adjustments (rare in the market); 1) for the length of the flame, 2) the size of the flame (how strong but not the length).

Con:
-The ignitor is not replaceable (I don't think there is any portable torch allows replacement parts)
-Does not have rubber sleeve at its handle area (not really a problem to me)
-The injector (upper portion of this torch in silver/metal color) never has best looking in my opinion, and for years its manufacturer still produces the same as-is ugly torch. (I don't think appearance matters much).

This Blazer Lighter company, I believe it is actually called "Prince Lighter Company" in Japan. Google it yourself~

There is nothing special about this product because IT SIMPLY WORKS AS A TORCH LIGHTER AS IT SUPPOSE TO BE! I have so many torches in past but nothing come close to its decent built quality. Comparing to some $10-$15 torches at liqueur stores, those cheap ones maybe last for a few uses to a few months. At least my previous ES1000 last about 4 years until the "electrical ignite" stopped sparking, so I have to light it up with a regular lighter (and toss it to my brother who loves freebies) before my job.
