Create healthy and delicious smoothies, snacks, and meals in a matter of seconds with the Blendtec Professional 800. Operating at the sound level of normal conversation, the Professional 800 is the quietest, most capable blender in the world thanks to Stealth technology, which includes a sleek sound enclosure and advanced sound dampening innovations. This innovative blender features an 11-speed capacitive touch slider, giving you the power to blend to the perfect consistency simply by sliding a finger up and down the control panel. The pulse button adds a burst of high-speed blending power while the six preprogrammed blend cycles allow you to create just about any recipe—from green smoothies to margaritas to hot soups—with the touch of an icon. To maximize blending performance, the Professional 800 includes the WildSide+ jar, which features an extra-wide base and a narrow fifth "wild" side that helps create a faster, smoother blend. Made of impact-resistant, BPA-free copolyester, the jar increases blending efficiency for frozen ingredients by up to 25% and features a blunt safety blade that is 80% thicker and ten times stronger than other blades. It is ideal for larger blends, high volume recipes, bread dough, smoothies, dips and batters, and more. Made in the USA, the Professional 800 is backed by a manufacturer's 10 year warranty.

+10 Year Warranty. That's right, this blender will last you for at least 10 years.
-Cost is pretty high, even considering cheaper options that work just as well (at the cost of sound, warranty, and profile settings).
-Blender base is quite large compared to other options.
A great blender with great soundproofing that allows you to blend quietly without losing power. If you can manage the cost, it'll last you a long time. 5 Stars.
Once upon a time, I was in search of a blender. Originally, I had a small Oster from 2008 that had finally crapped out on me.
In my search for a blender I finally decided that I should upgrade to something better. First, I found the KitchenAid 5-Speed Diamond Blender at my local costco. It worked out very well for all my smoothie needs, however after a short while I found it to be leaking (a common problem with the line) and also noticed that the jar was scratching the base. A quick return and I moved onto my next blender, a Blendtec TB-621-20 Total Blender.
The Blendtec blended great and gave amazingly smooth smoothies, however, the one biggest issue was that it sounded like a jet engine taking off when blending. Another issue was that because the blender was somewhat light, the power of the blades spinning caused it to want to spin in a circle if I was not holding it. I live in an apartment where that sort of sound will most definitely have some police come by, especially given that I like to make morning smoothies at 6 AM. Looking for a quieter, yet still as powerful alternative, I moved on to the VITAMIX 6300. This was indeed quieter than the blendtec, but still loud enough to wake people up. I also wasn't a fan of the tamper design, as I prefer a more automated experience.
Still in search of a good blender, I finally came across this listing, but on the Costco website (which now no longer lists the item as it sold out within 2 days of my discovery of it).
This Pro 800 is basically the home consumer version of the Blendtec Stealth, a commercial blender that is very quiet.
Touted as "The quietest blender in the world," it is a claim that is very believable. It still has the same loud jet engine feature, but the enclosure muffles the sound so much that my washing machine is louder than than it while running. With an 1800 watt 3.8 horsepower peak, it has more than enough power to go through all your blending needs.
The thing to note is that this blender is heavy, weighing in at 17 pounds. This allows it to actually stay in place, thus truly eliminating the need to keep my hand on the blender. I can actually set and forget it unlike the other models of blendtec that have an issue with moving around due to their sheer power.
Needless to say, the Costco version comes with the the blender, which is actually just a Blendtec Stealth base with a serial number for home use, the Wildside Plus Jar, the Fourside Jar, and the Twister Jar. It's a great value given that extra jars run 100 a piece, but it appears that finding them in stock if you're a Costco member is tough.
If you're looking to purchase this machine, you won't regret it.
The Pro 800 differs from the stealth because instead of using numbers on the capacitive touch panel, it uses icons and a preloaded profile named PROFESSIONAL. The 6 profiles are batter, ice crush, smoothie, ice cream, whole juice, and hot soup. These icons do not change even if you change the profile, so that's something to keep in mind.
You can still access the original profiles through programming mode, but I find that the 6 profiles are pretty good, though I may end up changing the batter option to "nut butter" instead.
You add additional profiles by going online to Blendtec's Blender Wizard and creating a profile to add onto a USB stick. You then plug it into the blender, tell the blender to import the profile, then you're all set. One plus of being able to do this is that you can obtain blender profiles specifically for making certain recipes, which eliminates the guesswork out of how long at what speed do you need to use the blender.
There are two kinds of profiles: Menu profiles and icon profiles. The Menu Profile determines which icons do what to the 6 predefined functions.
When you select an icon, it displays the name of the icon profile. So if the batter icon was reassigned to nut butter, it would say NUT BUTTER along with a timer to indicate how long it will take before the cycle is done.
One thing to note is that the hot soup setting is set at 90 seconds. Other blenders recommend 3-6 minutes (180-300 seconds) to make hot soup, but this one only requires a minute and a half to heat it up, and trust me, the soup will be hot enough. Running the cycle twice will cause the soup to burn your tongue.
If you really like customizing a blender's profiles to your need, you'll love this blender. I'm a computer engineer and knowing that I'm not limited to just 3 or 5 presets and being able to decide my own definitely makes this a great buy. The original 6 settings will also be good enough for most people.
The TL;DR at the top says it all.
