The Blessed Hellride finds former Ozzy Osbourne's guitarist and Black Label Society frontman Zakk Wylde playing all instruments bar the drums, yet retaining an intensity that Osbourne has sadly lacked for some years. Combining the bludgeoning heaviness of Black Sabbath, the Southern flavor of the Allman Brothers, and the flashy pyrotechnics of Eddie Van Halen, Wylde delivers crushing riffs and head-spinning solos throughout such highlights as the grand "Blackened Waters," the stomping "Suffering Overdue," and "Stillborn," a pained lament for dead love that features Osbourne. Wylde owes such a debut to Black Sabbath that his voice is nearly indistinguishable from Ozzy's, and he lacks subtlety, as evinced by the clattering percussion that invades the otherwise melancholic closer "Dead Meadow". Even so, this is a cut above the heavy-rock norm. --Dominic Wills

Album starts off with Stoned & Drunk which sets the tone for a great album which is heavy as hell, great lyrics & vocals with sick guitar and drum tracks.
Doomsday Jesus is a straighup rock track with thick groovy basslines and almost a southern fried sludge metal-ish doom track. Stillborn(feat. Ozzy) is a catchy track with amazing vocals and some of the best guitar tracking & riffs on the album..by far 1 of the best songs on the album.
Suffering Overdue is an amazing hard hitting drum & bass driven track with excellent vocals.
Blessed Hellride slows down the album a bit,but it is still nice & beautiful and it is super catchy. Excellent slow tempo track with some of the most melodic vocals and acoustic guitar.
Funeral Bell picks up the pace with a catchy riffs and a super addictive rhythm guitar lead that's just super heavy & crunchy, the vocals and drums kick ass on this track.
Final Solution is another great southern rock driven song with excellent guitar riffs.
Destruction Overdrive is in overdrive, with hard pounding drums & Zakks infamous pinch harmonics it's another killer track.
Blackened Waters is 1 of my favorite tracks on the album,it is so beautiful. The guitar work is sick, the vocals and the guitar solo is some of the most beautiful BLS i have ever heard.
We Live No More is a great track just like the 1 before it,with super beautiful vocals and amazing half acoustic/half electric guitar track.
Dead Meadow closes the album with a super beautiful piano and a doomy sad sound, but it's so amazing and perfect. This is 1 of BLS top 3 albums(along with 1919 Eternal & Stronger than Death)
If you wanna hear some amazing guitar work, some excellent vocals and beautifully crafted rock/metal album this is the cd for you.
Don't miss this one. Zakk pulls out all the stops on this essential.

Volle Punkte.
