Gone is the urbane and sophisticated landscape of Ms. Haviland's "Wanted Men" series and in it's place is a gritty, small-town clannishness that sucks one in and makes one almost sweat from the heat and humidity that's in the air and in the lives of the MC members of Queen Creek Arizona. And that is what made the reading rough for me; it all seems almost too real! With her fine psychological study "Grievous", Ms. Haviland lead her readers through the darkness of the psyche. "Blind Faith" does not delve that deep, but deep enough.
The narrative is flowing and lucid, the plot progressive and fast-paced but Ms. Haviland knows when to slow things down to let her readers feel the internal struggles that Josh and Tish endure in the name of love, even if Josh has trouble saying that time-bomb of a word.
The MC is more prominent this time around and secondary characters are more fleshed out with the promise of more to learn of them in the books to come. One of my favorite scenes is when the father of Tish's best friend admits to Josh that his deceased wife "wasn't my Tish, though." These are the kind of tidbits Ms. Haviland strews around her stories that keeps her readers so "faithful"; we know that there will be more alpha men and gutsy women to come! And as in "Blind Devotion", there is unapologetic dirtiness to this story that steams up the pages more than that Arizona heat and humidity!
In all, this is a great story that will keep you reading to the end and asking for more!!
These guys have some really unique road names; Guardian, Arbitrator, Irish and Mortician to name a few. They live for the brotherhood and support each other no matter the cost or consequences.
The love Josh has for Tish is amazing and her Blind Faith in him is unstoppable.
The connection between the H/h made for a beautiful read. Steamy, sensual, emotional, heartwarming and just enough of the MC way of life any fan of MC books will enjoy this book.
I liked the tie in at the end to the wanted men series. I was an idiot and kept saying Vex I heard that name before...hey it's Caleb! Duh.
Tish was young and I know she had been in love with Josh forever, but she was just like a dog following her master with no say at all.
Josh was hot, but his over the top possessive bull crap rubbed me wrong at times. I know his past tried to explain it and it was all so tragic.
The MC part is front and center and the other players involved are interesting and there is lots to go off of.
There is down and dirty loving sometimes to excess. So be warned if not your thing not for you.
I will read the next for sure.
