I got this book the day it was released and then proceeded to stay up most of the night reading it. After waiting for what seemed like an eternity for this book to be released sleep was not an option or luxury I could afford. Since the title of the book was Blind, I felt it only fair that I start this book much like Jesse, Brandy, Jilly, and Nicki's parents... blind. I am SO glad I did. While I have never been accused of being the most patient person in the world, I must admit, waiting for this book to be released since reading 'Innocent Bystander' in May was almost unbearable. I was happy to have some other Jade releases to keep me preoccupied but knowing that there are people out there (real or fiction) who drop the 'F' bomb as much as I do is strangely comforting :) I love that Jade writes from within her world, being a metal fan herself, it makes the characters all the more real to me. I think she gets how hard it can be to be judged as a person by the tattoos, piercings and music that come along with living in the world of metal. Reading about a woman who can balance the working world while still rocking out gives me hope. Keep going Jade, as long as 'Fake' isn't referring to the tats, I am ok with the wait... Kinda... :)

Sean and Nicki are going strong and after a couple weeks decide it's time to tell their friends. Nicki is worried about her girlfriends learning to like Sean and Jesse forgiving him. She is also worried about her super religious parents finding out since they are "living in sin" . Nicki is also trying to figure out how to continue her stories on the meth problem in town without putting herself in more danger. I waited forever for this book (like two weeks since I just discovered this series) and it did not disappoint as far as the story goes buuut as always the author ended it in a way that kept me wanting more and the next book won't be out until next spring. I normally don't like to read a series until they are all done because I am so impatient!! I bugged Jade C. Jamison on fb constantly about this book coming out and I only waited a week or two for it. I have no idea how to live without another one until next spring.

Nicki, Sean, Jesse... my three favorite characters to read about! Was THRILLED to see how Nicki and her room mate turned out *dont want to give anything away* I was captured from page one. I've read all of Jade's books and I cant even explain how excited I was for Blind to come out. Jade again has me wanting for more! I was so sad to see the book end...Yet I am thrilled there is a new one on the way in 2013! Thanks again for a great series to read!

I would have given five stars, but parts of this book dragged more than the previous ones. There's TOO MUCH backstory given here. I understand wanting it to be able to stand alone if people haven't read the previous books, but by book 8?? Give it a couple sentences here & there & move on. People (A) need incentive to go read those other books, and (B) will get enough of an idea to move on with the story. Those of us who have read them all in order may get too bored (like me) reading paragraphs & pages rehashing what was well written in a previous book.

Beyond this complaint, I LOVE the story of Nicki & hope that things in her personal life (!!!) remain stable in future installments. The underbelly of Winchester & her professional career are really carrying things forward nicely & can't wait to see how it all plays out.

I am in love with these books!! Sean has by far turned into my new book boyfriend with Jesse running a close second. After reading all the books in the series so far, I really feel like I know these characters personally! Jade has a way of making the story absorb you. I can't wait until Spring of 2013 to get my Nicki and Sean fix.. I really want these two to work out and stay together! Keep up the good work Jade!!

This book was a great add on to the series because I was hoping for it. I wanted the author to wrap up some things and add others which she did and I am grateful for. I would totally recommend this series.

“Blind: Nicki Sosebee #8” by Jade C. Jamison
5 out of 5 stars

Are we blind to the unsavory things going on around us? Is it intentional or do we really just not care if it doesn’t directly affect us? Nicki is still chasing down the answers to who is behind the crystal meth drug trade in her little town of Winchester. The only problem is that law enforcement isn’t being very helpful and the readers of The Tribune have moved on to other topics. This leaves Nicki wondering if her little burg is ever going to truly “see” the corruption and illegal activities happening right under their noses. Will she ever be able to get to the bottom of the story and will it be before the danger catches up to her?

Nicki’s diving deeper into the underbelly of Winchester and it’s exciting to see! I love her tenacity and her determination to uncover the truth about the meth trade and prostitution in her city. Her unwillingness to give up in the face of potential danger makes her a bit of an equal with Sean and his BAMF status. Perhaps she should get a tattoo as well! I love this side of her and I hope we continue to see it as the series goes on.

In her personal life Nicki is on cloud nine as her dreams of a relationship with Sean are finally coming true. I want to concentrate on Sean because I feel like his character really grew with this book. I have to admit that I wasn’t always a fan of his and felt that in past outings he seemed a little selfish concerning Nicki. However, looking back now I see that Jamison played her cards very close to the vest and created a subtle build up that made their coupling all the more realistic because of it.
