Editorial Reviews

4 stars from RT Book Reviews - February 2016
The second book in Lassiter's Role of Fate series truly delivers, with suspense, intrigue and a greatromance. Meg and Tyler are both hiding secrets that take almost the entire book to be revealed, and Lassiter does a great job of keeping the story captivating and building tension while developing Meg and Tyler's feelings for each other. It's a page-turner for both the mystery and the romance.
Meg Johnson is new in town when she meets policeman Tyler McMann, who is investigating the disappearance of her neighbor and only friend in town. The sparks fly between them as soon as they meet, but they both have real doubts about a relationship. Meg doesn't want Tyler to know about her past, and Tyler doesn't want to get involved with someone he can't trust.

Blinding Fate is the second book in the Role of Fate series by Tamra Lassiter. I like that you don't necessarily have to read the first book, Deciding Fate, to know what's going on in this book. Some of the characters introduced in the first book are there, but because of the way Tamra writes the story, you don't feel like you started in the middle and missed something. Meg and Tyler are fun to get to know. I like the suspense, intrigue and romance - wondering what's going to happen next. I'm looking forward to book 3, 4, etc... and hope Granny Simms' story develops. I liked the way the friendships developed with Meg, Kate, Kennedy and Melanie. It is so real and I just want to pull up a chair and be one of them! Now, time to start reading book #3, Creating Fate!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a honest review.

This is another adorable book in this new series by Tamra Lassiter,
Book one: Deciding Fate was one of my favorite reads this fall and this book is just as amazing. Tyler meets Meg after receiving a report from a nosy neighbor that she might know something about a man who lives next door possible disappearance.
And sparks fly! (It's one of those moments where they touch hands and both feel this connection, that always shocks them, like wow! What was that?)

Tyler discovers within the first few pages that Meg is hiding something and as a police officer he is not able to ignore that little feeling that says "you might want to look into this" the mystery deepens both for the missing neighbor and what is going on with Meg which lends quite a bit of suspense to this story. I love the will they or won't they tension between Tyler and Meg, they are so cute together though and the whole small town vibe with everybody rooting for them and being involved in their lives makes it seem even more awesome. It makes me think of a Lifetime movie where there are all the zany secondary characters that are trying to get the hero and heroine together and that is one of my favorite romance novel tropes. I don't want to give away too much about the whole storyline but I will say there are some twists and turns along the way that I didn't quite see coming. I was close! Haha but not exact. So bravo Tamra! For another amazing read. With Blinding Fate you have created another book that I want to crawl up in and bask in the warmth and hometown vibe.

Tyler met Meg when he checked out on a missing person's report. Meg turned out to be Mr Baker's neighbour and as he got her to recount the event that happened prior to him being missing, he couldn't help but feel an attraction. However, instincts are also alerting him that there is more to her that she isn't telling.

Meg and Tyler got closer when certain events happened and they were thrown together. As much as Tyler should turn away from the secrets Meg is hiding, his heart couldn't and he is hoping she would trust him enough some day to reveal them.

I really enjoyed how both of them developed in the relationship even though their attraction was kinda too fast. They definitely didn't jump into each other's pants right away which I appreciated. There was build up and that made their relationship more realistic. The title is so fitting. One just can't not appreciate that details in the story ties up with the title. I've not read the first book in the series and you can definitely read this as a standalone. However I think there'll be a greater sense of completeness if you have read the first book since the characters are linked throughout this series. You bet I'll be reading the rest of this series.

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Blinding Fate is a standalone novel about a woman named Meg who has recently moved to a small town where the only person she has befriended is her neighbor. One day, she notices that her neighbor is missing and calls the police which is when she meets an officer named Tyler. They are instantly drawn to each other, but Meg is clearly hiding who she is and what she is hiding from. Will Tyler be able to help Meg and will they be able to have a relationship?

I thought this book was a quick and sweet read. Yes, there is a touch of insta-love or lust, but it wasn't too much. I loved the connection the two main characters had and how Tyler wanted to help Meg, even knowing she isn't who she says she is and knowing that she may be a criminal. I liked how there were basically two mysteries in the story and they weren't too overly dramatic or unbelievable. I would recommend reading this book if you are looking for a sweet, quick, not too angsty or overly dramatic book, with a small mystery that isn't drawn out.

Blinding Fate is the second book in a new series by Tamra Lassiter. Tyler is a policeman looking into the disappearance of Meg's next door neighbor. He is immediately attracted to her even though he knows that she is hiding something. Meg is also attracted to Tyler but feels like she needs to run away again to keep her secrets. Even though he knows that she is hiding something, Tyler wants to help her. This is a quick sweet read about love and trust. Even though there is a strong attraction between the two main characters, they are smart enough not to take their relationship to the next level until they trust each other. Will their relationship work out? You have to read the book to find out!
