Temporary Bliss is the story of how Mac went from 4 guys to one! She's a casual dater, which is the clean way to say it. If you're against woman like that, this isn't the book for you. But if that's doesn't bother you, then awesome! You won't miss out ;) She ends up meeting her super hero, her número uno :)
The series goes on from there. Her best friend Kate ends up with one of her 4. She's lucky too cuz the one she gets........
All books have HEA's.........
I don't want to spoil it to much so that's why I'm being vague. This book deserves that finger to one click on the buy link button!!!!
Ok, did I tease you enough? Good! One click now 😘
Temporary Bliss was a fantastic story about a girl that although was self-confident with her sexual needs; created a world of casual encounters to safeguard her heart.
But even with a full plate of delicious men at her disposal; she never expected to want something more. And when she meets Daniel Winters, the last thing on her mind was commitment, maybe adding a forth peen to the rotation - but certainly not a relationship.
But Mac finds out that her desire for Daniel has her agreeing to a few rule changes that she never imagined she would. And as much as her body and heart seems to want to be claimed by him, her head is telling her to run, to keep her vow. But Mac has slowly slipped into what she's feared the most - a place where getting hurt becomes possible. She promised herself after her last relationship - nothing was worth the risk of being broken again.
Angst levels were low, humor was high and the steam was definitely turned up. As Kate would say: "Drooling at both ends."
True Bliss is Kate's story, although it can be read as a standalone; reading Temporary Bliss first is highly recommended. Since both Zander & Kate are introduced in the first book and Mac & Daniel play a big role in the second book.
Kate & Zander have had their share of run-ins, as her best friends former 'friends with benefits', Kate has always had a eye on him. But girl code and a misunderstood brush off has ensured Kate keeps her distance. But Zander knows what he wants and with a plan in place (that surely will go off without a hitch) he sets his sights on Kate. His Firebird.
True Bliss is my guilty pleasure type of read. A great quick romance read that has a bit of drama, but nothing that is going to cause me to cry over a broken pile of what was formerly my Kindle. Two characters that are easy to love and are and that are genuinely goodhearted.
With each book I read from B.J. Harvey I am so pleased with the growth I find within her stories. I am completely humbled by being able to not only get my hands on these a bit early, but to be able to chat books, her characters and discuss just everyday life with her.
Before I get to Sean, let's cover Samantha (Sam/Sammy) because I might just forget all about her once I my brain starts to focus on Sean... See what I mean, still stuck on Sean over here....
Sammy thought she knew what she wanted, in fact she had what she wanted, until she didn't. Making a choice ten years ago that that she was coerced into making, she still hasn't fully moved on. Her focus is her career. A proud member of the Chicago PD where her partner is none other than our favorite male stripper, Zander. Sam is fine with her life being focused on her job, she takes pride in it and it's the one area of her life that she's never allowed anyone to interfere. But when a call over the radio draws her to Throb, her past is crashing into her present and with a man like Sean; somethings just can't be avoided.
Sean, former bed-buddy of Mac - attorney by day and sex club owner by night. Sean is dominant, he knows this and embraces it. But Sean is also aware that meaningless one night stands aren't going to give him his happily ever after. If his past taught him one thing, it's that when you find someone you can love forever - you don't ever let go of that. Sean had that once and ten years later he hasn't been able to love anyone like he did her. When his brother gets into a sticky situation, Sean's past returns and now that he's laid eyes on her again - he knows what he wants and he's not about to let her go...again.
The theme of a second chance romance is always one that I enjoy. Sammy was so lost as to who she was in her youth that poor choices were made. She knew this, but it was slightly bothersome that even knowing that - she was still stubborn. I wanted to shake her and get her to wake up, eventually she does. And once she does, it's on. The tension finally exploded and there was no going back.
BJ Harvey did a fantastic job in giving us Sean's story and making it so much more than just a hero with a kinky side. One of the things I absolutely love about her writing is that it is consistent. The stories aren't shifted for the sake of pure shock value. A pure romance read with a touch of drama and humor laced throughout and heat. Blissful Surrender certainly turned up the heat, Sean had no problem seducing Sammy with his words just as he did with his body. I loved the chemistry between these two and how heated the read got at times. But the one thing that I absolutely loved is that the focus of this story was the two of them, not her issues/insecurities and not his fetishes, they were part of the story, but they weren't the story.
Mac & Daniel’s story continues in this Bliss Series Novella. The proposal has been accepted and Mac is reigning in her freak outs, although Daniel is still a little worried that as the wedding approaches that Mac might just freak out. Living the life that she never expected, happily engaged, sleeping with only one man, mother of two and well.... blissfully happy. Mac is ready to say I do to her superman. Permanent Bliss gives the final moments leading up to their HEA as they approach their wedding day.
Although this was a Novella, it was also the epilogue to one story and the transition that leads us perfectly into Finding Bliss (Noah’s story). BJH gives us the humor in large doses as we go through the crazy stress of wedding planning, drunken monkey sex and being the parents of two little monsters.
The Bliss Series is a fantastically written -humor filled romance. You get sassy heroines and you get strong heroes that touch on all of the types of BBF we love.
Finding Bliss is the final book in the romantic comedy Bliss Series by BJ Harvey (although there are some siblings that would make amazing additions). So far we’ve watch Mac fall in love, Zander see what was right in front of him and Sean capture a future with someone of his past. Now it’s Noah’s turn.
Dr. Noah Taylor. The walking dildo. The man with the reputation and the equipment between his legs to back it up. But oh, Noah is so much more than sex on legs... so much more than just the doctor that specializes in sexual healing. He’s a man who has, for years, chased after someone that didn’t want him. For years he carried an idea in his heart of more... but for the first time he wants someone that just might be able to give it to him back.
What I loved most about this installment of the Bliss series is that I was not particularly fond of Noah going into this. As we got closer to his release, I sort of started to open up to him – but he really never caught my attention early on. He just seemed a bit shallow as a character, but after reading Finding Bliss, he found his depth. We see the real man behind all the rumors. The wants and desires of a man that is finally wanting more. Wanting what his friend have – wanting a piece of it for himself.
BJ Harvey delivered a fantastic story that balanced out humor and some pretty emotional charged moments, but best of all, she kept you guessing. You knew there was more to the story – but just like SHE didn’t want anyone to know, you were kept in the dark as well. I loved that the bulk of the emotions that surged from that moment were ones that I felt right alongside the characters. I wasn’t robbed of experiencing the emotions as the scene played out. And yeah, as much as this had humor and some emotionally tense moments – we get a whole lotta hotness as these two hit the sheets and pretty much every available surface.
