I've been reading books on spirituality and self-help for over twenty years. I had never heard of Sean Meshorer, but I'm so glad I got this.

1) It is extremely well written. Yes, some of the information is the same (perhaps there's a reason for that...these things (like meditation) really do work)...and yet there was a bunch of new info in there as well. I love studies, and Sean peppers his book with studies on various things--such as why rich people are not happier, etc.

2) I love the videos on youtube. He tries when possible to have a sort of science experiment type thing (think Alton Brown) to explain spiritual concepts--which is neat. Just search Sean Meshorer and his channel should come up. The Microsoft Tags in the book work as well (you scan them with your iPhone, Android, or iPad)--but IMHO, it was easier just to subscribe to his youtube channel.

3) The 28 day format is good; however, the auther says that one can go at one's own pace--although preferably no more than one chapter per day.

4) His website seems rather robust--and the goal appears to be to build a community of people all doing the 28-day experiment.

In short, a really robust, useful book which if you do follow for 28 days, could make a big impact. Even after a day or two, I found myself remembering stuff I had read and asking myself what experience was I really seeking and could I find it internally or in other ways. Watch the youtube videos and visit his website if you're unsure about buying the book. :)

I really like the fact that the author does not have a perfect past--and shares about that openly. A nice change from many authors.

The only negative that comes to mind is that some people might be a bit impatient to start practicing.

This could be the MOST IMPORTANT BOOK you will ever read in your life! I have an entire shelf of books on the science and how-to of happiness, but I consider this book to be leaps and bounds ahead of the others. As the author points out, bliss is way above happiness and doesn't depend on anything external. I also have an entire book case of books on spirituality--mostly nonduality. And I can say that this book has helped me gain clarity as much as 95% of those books, including the classics! Yet, it's written in such a way that someone of any religion, or even an atheist or agnostic, could understand and gain from it.

The author claims that this method has helped thousands achieve a more or less permanent state of bliss. I confess I am not much into the exercises (with the exception of the affirmation). But I have been feeling blissful every day since I began reading this book. It's really helped me let go of things that I thought were necessary for my happiness, most specifically an intensely romantic relationship I recently lost.

The book starts with the author's own story---he is plagued by constant chronic pain, which to me is the worst evil life can dole out to someone. In spite of that, he managed to create a life of constant bliss! There are six parts, and toward the end is an entire section describing bliss. Usually I am tempted to go straight to the best part, but in this case the entire book was so good I read it all consecutively.

Each chapter includes a real life case study about someone the author knows personally (including a really sizzling one about a famous rock star). Each chapter also includes science--all in easy layman's terms. To me this is the most fascinating part! We know from all spiritual paths that desire is the cause of suffering.

I have read and studied ideas like those in this book for over 5 decades, so there was very little new here for me. While the writing was at times a bit overdone and wordy, for the most part it was well written and followed a logical progression.

I also appreciated all the references to recent research into the various topics. It is always nice when science finally catches up with the Universe. (In all fairness, the Universe does have a few billion years head start...)

All the practices discussed are fairly easy to do and non-denominational - you neither have to be religious nor skeptical to have these tings work. Unfortunately, despite the title, it will not happen in 28 days. If that were the case, there would be a lot more gurus doing a lot more miracles running around. This is an introduction to these ideas, not an in-depth program of study.

To break out of the trance most people are in most of their lives takes a lot more work than a few simple daily exercises over a month. It takes radical changes in thinking and perception to break out of the "matrix" of consensual hypnosis, especially with so many working to keep you asleep.

That said, I am confident that if you follow the book and do the practices, you will get viable benefits. These practices will open up new perceptions and help you cast off the shackles of restricted thinking, but there is always more work to be done. Bliss is a state of being, not a static goal in itself. That is not to say you cannot reach a state of bliss after 28 days of this program - it is possible, but don't be attached to the idea that it will be automatic.

The book is a good starting point if topics like meditation are new to you. There are many different areas discussed and introduced, and there are further sources listed in each chapter and on the related web page.

Recommended for those new to these ideas.
