Blockland

Blockland is an online multiplayer game where you build things with bricks in an FPS (+jetpack) environment. The game provides the tools and you build the experience you want to have. This is not a concept or tech demo, this is a fully functioning game with an active community.

Originally released in 2004, Blockland has gone through many iterations and improvements over the years and now contains many advanced features:

Shaderized graphics with real time shadows and day/night cycles
Minigame and gamemode systems for deathmatch and other scenarios
Super cool brick physics
Robust Add-On system for user created content
In-game event system for building interactive elements
Advanced scripting support using Torque Script

This game is a great load of fun and excitement!
I've been playing this game for around 6 years and the community still has me glued to this game.

In this game there is more freedom than anything.
You can be on one server hanging out with friends and just free-building or, you can be on another server, Team Death-Matching.

However, with as much freedom as this game has, there is maturity needed in order for balance.
This community isn't full of people ages 7 - 10.
It's more ages of 15 - 21.

This is definetly my favorite game. I downloaded the demo almost six years ago and bought it a few months later. I admit the community is not the best ever but you will learn to ignore them. The add-on system is easy to use and has lots of great content made by other players. Blockland just keeps getting better and better! Now that the game has joined Steam there are a lot more players. I highly recommend buying this game if are looking for years of fun and creativity!

Being a download there were no directions. Getting thru the tutorial was a labor but I hung in and got thru it. PLaying the game things got much worse. Things just didn't work as you might expect - there waqs a race track and a car. I couldn't control the car, couldn't even get on what I think was the track.
Guess I'm a sucker for those cheap games. I have a bunch of $5 games that don't play well but spending bucks on a game is no gurantee either.
All the reviews I read on this game couldn't say enough good things about it. That's why I bought it but I guess it's just not my cup 'o tea.

this game is horrible, the community is bad s*** crazy, all crazy immature 14 year olds with big mouths. if your trying to get this game for your child look at a game called lego worlds on steam instead, its the same concept, more professionally made, and a way nicer playerbase. the blockland game is dying anyways, the creator doesnt care about it anymore so its a worthless buy.

You can unlock the full game, but unless you like dinking around by yourself, that's not much good. When you try to play online, it'll tell you that your game code "cannot be verified." Truth be told, just buy it through steam. The costumer support for Blockland completely ignores everyone.
