Blogging Basics for Authors: 30 Lessons to Help Writers Create Effective Blogs and Blog Content Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 16 ratings

Most authors blog because they’re told they have to—not because they want to. You’d rather be writing, right?

Blogging is writing. And with a little guidance, you can tap into your natural abilities to create a blog with a strong, international readership of lifelong fans that will then buy your books.

As an author, blogging is the easiest way to promote your books. A successful blog has anywhere from 1,000 to 100,000 readers per month, and many bloggers enjoy more readers per day than best-selling authors.

That could be you . . .

Blogging Basics for Authors provides 30 easy lessons to help you become an effective blogger and bring some serious traffic to your author website. Apply one tip per day for a month, and you’ll see tremendous results.

Writers write. You are a writer. That means you can blog. And you’ve got an advantage over the average blogger who has no writing experience.

I bought this book to help me prepare for a class I’m teaching and found it to be a treasure trove of information and advice for those starting to blog and veteran bloggers.

What I love about this book is that Nina takes authors by the hand and teaches them from scratch how to blog. While the book starts with the basics, there is also a lot of meat in the book. It will definitely take more than 30 days to implement everything in the book, but I see that as a good thing, because it means that the information has enough depth that it can take time to apply it all. I was personally encouraged to have a sales page on my blog for each of my books, rather than just pointing people to Amazon. If you're an author and you want to be inspired and instructed in how to blog effectively, this book is worth the read.

This book offers a really simple, straightforward easy to follow approach for anyone new to blogging - which I am! Full of practical tips to get you going, I found it at exactly the right time.

I would recommend it for anyone new to blogging - even those not planning to be 'authors' but who want to increase their internet presence as part of their marketing approach.

Nina really helps to build your confidence by holding your hand throughout the read and encouraging you to get started by empathising with some of the challenges you are sure to be feeling. It's a bargain price for the value add - I'm delighted with my purchase!

This was really more geared towards blogging a book rather than general blogging which is useful I'm sure but not for me. Still some good info.
