Physical education and classroom teachers can use this game to teach math, literature and hand-eye coordination to kids of all ages and abilitiesPlayers take turns tossing the BlongBalls at the opposite goal trying to wrap them on one of the three barsEach bar scores different points while points are subtracted when a players balls are knocked off by their opponentSet includes 2 goals (2'W x 3'H), 2 sets of 3 outdoor balls and instructions
Liven up your camping trips and family reunions with this full BlongoBall set. Appropriate for use both outdoors and indoors, BlongoBall combines elements from bocce, horseshoes, croquet, and other lawn sports, but adds a unique twist: rather than throwing a ball or a shoe, you throw a BlongoBall, which is technically two small spheres connected by a thin stretch of rope. The goal is to wrap your BlongoBall around one of the horizontal bars of the BlonGoal, which stands 25 feet away (or less if kids are playing). Players score one, two, or three points with a successful throw, depending on which bar the BlongoBall grabs. And the game ends when one person or team reaches 21 points exactly. You can even add a bit of defensive strategy to the game by trying to knock your opponent's BlongoBalls off the bars.
BlongoBall is fun for kids and families, but it's also great for physical education classes, teambuilding games, or even as a rehab tool in a therapy setting. The BlongoBall set comes with two BlonGoals and two sets of BlongoBalls. Players can also purchase such accessories as extra BlongoBalls, a carrying bag, and a portable score tower.
Mike Long and his wife, Roberta, were early retirees who spent much of their time fishing, hunting, rafting, boating, and RVing. When Mike was introduced to the rudimentary concept of BlongoBall, he decided that the game merited serious development and investigation. Mike built the prototype game and used all of his friends as test subjects. BlongoBall was tested on the beaches of Lake Powell, on raft trips on the Salmon River, on the beaches of San Diego, and in parks and campgrounds form the southwest to the northwest. In every location, passersby would stop and interrupt the games to find out where they could buy BlongoBall. The enthusiastic response encouraged Mike to continue to refine the rules and goal configurations.
After months of design, research and testing, Mike applied for and received a patent for BlongoBall, which has been enthusiastically received by kids and adults of all ages since its release. Founded in 2004, BlongoBall is located in Spokane, Washington.

Before selecting this set I read reviews of many different sets online and even reviewed plans to build my own. The part that sold me on this set over the other options was that it was built strong enough to stand up to real family game use and yet can still be taken apart. Many of the cheaper sets you see have various design flaws or parts that just are not strong enough and the reality of it is if the game does not deliver it is just going be unused and waste space. The pieces in this set were easy to assemble. Some parts are prebuilt and cannot be taken apart which I assume is to keep the set as solid as possible. The set arrives nicely arranged in the box but unless you study in carefully or take a picture do not plan on easily putting all the pieces back into the box. The blongo balls are what feel like real golf balls and connected with a good heavy piece of nylon rope. The quality of the parts used in make the blongo balls is important to have the right weight and feel to the game. My only complaint on the ladder pieces is once in a while you will manage to knock something apart, not a big deal they can be reconnected and the trade to have a set that can be taken apart.
As I mentioned earlier this game is a great deal of fun for a wide range of ages. There is set of instructions included with the game which works well to play with. What I have noticed is that most everyone has their own variation on the game. All the variations to the game are a great way to keep up the variety. Without adding on any more sets of blongo balls playing with teams you will keep 4 people busy. The manufacturer sells additional sets of blongo balls if you would like different colors or even to get more teams involved in playing.
I gave the game 4 stars, instead of 5, for a couple of reasons. It would have been nice if the set came in a box that was easier to put the pieces back into and use as a carrying case. I also was disappointed in how short the warranty was on the set at 90 days. Depending on how things work out I don't think that is enough time to test your set out fully and fill it should have been a little longer. With the above said, it is a great game, gets everyone involved, and is another easy to learn and difficult the master kind of game. All the pieces are built right so you can play the game the way its meant to be played. In the end this is what is important and is why it is a game I would recommend.
* Quick and easy assembly
* Love the colored horizontal score bars - didn't even think about that being such a bonus but when you play it you realize that it really does help. Love that they're marked for points 1-2-3 too, just a nice touch
* Nice, well made ball sets made from real golf balls
* Storage. Wish the box itself didn't require an engineering degree to repack, fought for nearly an hour (I'm just that stubborn) trying to win but alas, the game beat me. That then further aggrevated me when I had to go online and purchase the nylon carry bag to store it. Just a few extra bucks on a reusable box would have been golden.
* Cha-ching when you add the extra balls and nylon carrying bag...just step up and give me everything in one set guys.
Recommend buying extra balls but beware - if they're only $7 on Amazon, they're soft! The description on the balls doesn't (currently, though I've recommended to Amazon to chg that) say that, but if you look closely you can tell the hard golf ball ones that cost around $11-$17 - they're not pictured in a bag but loose, and the cord has colored pattern on it, not just white. I had to purchase at Blongo directly since Amazon didn't have the colors I wanted, wound up paying like $15 a set including shipping - ouch. Plus the bag, again - ouch in total.
All in all, definitely a more than fun game, worth buying.
This is a great ladder golf set. It's sturdy, and you don't have to steady it with bricks or anything at the base, as I see you have to with less well-made versions. A piece of my sister's game, a cheaper version that she got at Wal-Mart, broke the first time she used it and she can't get replacement parts.
We got an extra set of balls, which you can get here BlongoBall Outdoor Balls (SET). Just make sure you get the right packs. The golf balls have no designation in the title, while the soft balls (to use with younger children) are noted like this Blongo Family Fun BB-2 S-R BlongoBall Soft Accessory Pack (red). We also got the carrying bag Blongo Family Fun BB-3GB BlongoBall Game Bag. You need something, because you'll never fit all the pieces back in the box.
This is a great game to take to family gatherings and the shore, as people of all ages can play. My son likes it better than bocce ball, which we also play with family. There's something about golf balls winging around in the air that makes the game more exciting for kids.
I think I'm going to do what several others have done when I see this at the beach or campground... glue the upper frame and the base as two single pieces. This way we'll have two components to assemble when we play and we won't lose any parts or have them pop off when we're playing.
Other than that, we love ours. In fact, I know a couple of people who are getting this item for Christmas.
