I received a ARC of this book in exchange for a honest review.
First of all let me just say I am a huge fan of Heather's work and I was so excited to see that she was bringing us a 1,001 Dark Nights novella!  This story is one of my favorites in the series. I am infamous for loving stories set in New Orleans (like seriously, I hunt these books down and load up my eReader just to see where the story will take us in this amazingly beautiful city. And I am never disappointed. ) So not only do we have my favorite story setting in the whole world but we have a deliciously creepy storyline. Add in a few steamy times and you have the recipe for a excellent afternoon escapism read.

I was pleasantly surprised about the depth of the historical aspect that we see in the First chapter telling about the legends and the historical aspect and that makes it clear (for those who didn't read the foreword anyway) that NOLA is one of Heather's favorite places and she wants people to see the appeal of the place as more than just a major party destination. Her descriptive writing style allows us to become fully immersed in the story and experience all the sights and feel the humid breeze that comes off the bayou at night. Smell the benigets and coffee brewing in a restaruant. Its like a mini vacation because you do experience it all.

I loved this stry, I did'nt expect other wise. Heather Graham is a great story teller. She has given us many wonderful characters and the stories are always set in good places. This book had a really good mixture of characters and was set in New orleans, agreat mystery. I have read so many of Heathers books and would recommend her books to anyone who loves reading.

Graham has always been one of my all time favorites and I was not disappointed with this book either. Though I'd not read previous books that brought Danni and Quinn together initially, it didn't hamper the story. Loved the suspense of the setting with the Swamps of Louisiana. So much flavor to be had there. I wasn't surprised about Novak being a bad guy, but I was clueless to the end about the cop Beauchamp. Just goes to show that surprises can be an eye opener, and the way Danni was able to tie in all the varibles was stellar work.

Read this novella and you will be frantic for more! Heather Graham is the mistress of the odd and unusual. I would love to see the Cafferty's basement room, but I am afraid that I would never have the nerve to do so. I'll just read the creepy, but wonderful, books from Heather Graham.

Heather continues to deliver seriously with a light touch! These
two Danni and Quinn are fully developed characters and the plot has clues, suspense and enough levity to make this a " too short"
read. But then most of her books are a " too short" read! Enjoy!

This is the first book that I have read by Heather Graham. I know! I am so late to the party! The synopsis grabbed my attention. I love New Orleans and who doesn't love a good murder mystery, especially if there is a chance it is a serial killer! I like Heather's style of writing. You get to see different points of view as you go along and you are seeing what each character is doing.

This is a novella so the story went very quickly and I read this book in a couple of hours. I did get to see a little bit of the connections between all of the characters but since this was a short book I didn't feel a giant connection with them. I do not think that is because the writing is bad but because I am coming into the middle of a series. You do get a little bit of background on Quinn and Danni so I did not feel lost at all. I want to know more so I will be going to the first Cafferty & Quinn book so I get to know everyone better.

I was intrigued through the whole story. You start out on a night swamp tour and the tour finds the first body. Basically, I was hooked from page one. I love taking tours in NOLA because there is so much history and so many dark, scary characters that made the city their home. I was guessing and trying to figure out who the murderer was the whole time and I was a little surprised by the ending! There are so many books that I have figured out the ending early and then was a little disappointed reading the rest. This did not happen here!

I am giving this book 4.5 stars out of 5. I can't wait to go back and start at the beginning of this series. You can read this book as a stand alone. If you are not sure if you want to read Heather Graham, get this book and check out her writing style.

What a great story about how a person can come up with a monster from the old era and the FBI can look and find the way to get results to keep everyone safe. Keeps you on the edge of your chair. Great Going

Not an author who skates after reaching success, her writing and storylines only get better. The characters in this are now like cousins that you don't visit but keep up with other ways. I just love them.
