beware that if you are buying this at end of 2023, you are buying only half of the series. this was only 12 episodes in the DVD/Blu ray set that i rec'd today. this is a great series. this by same dude that did Trigun. i did check on other anime site and they do sell the entire in one set, so that set does exist apparently. i was going to down rate this but i dont have the heart to do that to work by Nightow. he is a legend after all.

This is one of my favorite shows.
Great animation, and character writing. Characters feel pretty fleshed out. Most have their own desires and lives outside the show. For the ones that don't get the screen time to show character development, they represent tropes, but pretty unique tropes imho.
Fully captures the feeling of a large, eclectic and hectic city of with an intriguing world they've written here. I highly recommend watching this!!

I will try and both address the false advertising, all while calling out a solution the sellers SHOULD try for:
With the, arguably, stupid ways Japanese media is created & released (commenting on the uncertainty of a release timeline for a show's seasons, let alone if a series will even get another season) I can understand why the box art would INITIALLY say "complete series" but they've released a 2nd season and rumors of a 3rd season this year (2021). They could have AT LEAST EDITED THE AMAZON LISTING to include "1st season". I caught that it was only the 1st season, but that's because I read reviews and also went looking for the 2nd season.

I love this series, it reminds me in many ways of Cowboy Bebop which is my all-time favorite anime. This Anime series differs from the Manga after from the first 2 volumes with it's own original story and "villains?" so no worries about getting one spoiled by the other. That being said, I did pay up and spent the extra $20 on the "special edition" of the series....and I'm not so sure it's worth it. As far as I can tell, it contains the same extras as the standard edition, the only diference is that it comes in a red box containing the 2 blu ray cases (blu ray and dvd of the series) as opposed to your standard blu-ray case with all the discs in a single case. Not sure it's worth the extra cash.

『血界戦線』の初見さんにとっては、ワンシーン毎の情報量が多過ぎるので（小ネタ含む）、理解が追い付かないので、良くも悪くも勢いで見るアクションアニメになっています。
基本、漫画版とセットで楽しむアニメなので、アニメ版が面白いと思ったならば、漫画版を読んで再度アニメ版を見ると一層楽しめる事でしょう。

小難しい事はともかくとして、『血界戦線』のアニメ版がお手頃価格なのは有り難い！
