"Reveal: Violet" by Michelle Fox – Great writing, intense and intriguing storyline and compelling characters – this story is an amazing page-turner. So very good!
"Exposed: Zoe" by Gwen Knight – Wonderfully written and fast paced, this story took my breath away! I couldn’t peel myself from this book until it ended. Fantastic book!
"Compelled: Cerise" by Rebecca Rivard – Another well written book that is a real page-turner. The storyline is amazing and characters intriguing and exciting. Fabulous book!
"Eternity: Abigail" by Tami Land - While this book is a standalone, I would recommend reading "Resist: Anya" first to better understand the background for Abby's story. "Eternity" is a well written book with an engaging plot and exciting characters.
"Condemned: Bonnie" by Julia Mills - This is such a great story! It's very well written, the plot is intense, and the characters are exciting and fun. I especially loved Bonnie's sarcastic wit. Wonderful book!
"Sacrifice: Olivia" by Kristen Strassel - I didn't like this book and not because it was about the uglier side of the BC world. The premise was good and intriguing, it was on par with the other novels in this set, it piqued my interest. However, the execution was lacking. Storytelling was mediocre and character portrayal was less than adequate.
"Emboldened: Victoria" by Ever Coming – This story is a gem! Amazing plot and fantastic execution. Although most characters are from prior BC series, this is a true standalone. This author never disappoints.
"Undone: Missie" by Skye Jones - Great intriguing plot, compelling characters, and very good writing - this book kept me glued to my kindle from the first page.
"Concealed: Lexi" by Rosalie Redd – This story is an emotional journey. Well written with an enthralling storyline and captivating characters. Beautiful!
"Refrain: Neriza" by Susan Griscom - Suspenseful and thrilling, this is a great story with fantastic plot and exciting characters. Amazing book!
"Relic: Cyra" by TL Reeve – Betrayal and payback are the primary theme of this story. The plot is interesting, and the execution is good.
Most novels in this set either refer to characters from previous BC series or have them appear. It isn’t necessary but would be more fun to read prior BC series first.
I loved and enjoyed reading these set of novels as much as did the previous series. This boxed set is an amazing treat for Blood Courtesans/Vampire lovers.
I purchased this set but begged for an ARC as I couldn't wait to get my BC/vamp fix fast enough.
>>> Reviewing “RELIC: CYRA” by T L Reeve <<<
Cyra Young, a librarian at Tulane University – a job she took only so she could afford to attend school there -- was tired of the constant New Orleans rain and the incessant puddles. Forgetting her umbrella, and trusting the “reliable” weather app, she rushed home until, 10 minutes from her apartment, the skies opened and tried to drown her. By the time she got home, she heard glass shattering and cursing in Haitian-Creole from a vampire trashing her stuff … and he specifically mentioned her name among those undecipherable foreign words, in case she had any doubt! Then a man spoke from behind her.
The man grabbed her roughly and instantly transported her up to her apartment so that his boss, Phillipe, could question her. Fortunately, she was able to keep down the contents of her stomach! Apparently her non-caring, lying, treasure-hunter mother had told Phillipe that Cyra had “the relic” and Phillipe came to get it. Because she didn’t have it – and no idea what it even was -- with no further description, he threatened her and allowed her one week to locate the relic. If she could find a vampire who would help her . . . but searching every site she could find, there was nothing to be found. But maybe one piece of vague information would lead her to the one who could help – if he weren’t a myth? And maybe he could save her?
>>> Reviewing “UNDONE: MISSIE” by Skye Jones <<<
Hating rich people and vampires, Missie was not pleased to see a man who just sat down in the back of the club who appeared to fall into both of those categories! He was dressed in expensive clothing, but also pale and graceful when he moved. Fortunately she was finished working for the night and was happy to walk out and head home for the night. But she suddenly felt her neck prickle intensely, as if someone were staring at her. It felt almost like a physical touch! She turned around and saw that same man in the corner watching her intently. She had to force herself to look away from him and step out the door.
Hurrying home, she unlocked her rental and stared. The place was ransacked, items tossed everywhere, her iPad missing, and in the bedroom, all of her things were gone. All the money she had saved, hidden in multiple places, was also gone. Only the small amount in the tampon box was still there. Her credit cards were missing, and if the thief used them, it would allow her psychopath stepdad to know she was in Greece, where he would track her down. She had to leave – but saw her passport had also been taken. She would work one more night and fancy herself up to gain maximum tips – then she would take the ferry and escape.
Despite the extra makeup, the tips were pretty much like always. She was horrible at flirting, more a tomboy than a girlie-girl. But suddenly she felt the prickle in her neck again. The vampire was sitting in the corner again. This time, he sent another waitress to request Missie wait on him. When she brought the champagne, the woman with him snarled that it was the cheap brand and shoved it off the table. The vampire, Dimitri, told the vamps with him to return to the yacht. Missie really hated vampires. Her friend, Roxie, had become a Blood Courtesan and loved that life. Was she brainwashed?
To her surprise, Dimitri asked her to serve at his party on the yacht the next night. He would pay her a very large fee for the job. He knew her name, which alarmed her; but she needed the money. Should she accept? How could she trust him? And what would be waiting for her on the yacht?
>>> Sneak Peek at “CONCEALED: LEXI” by Rosalie Redd <<<
Lexi drew her 5 cards from the tarot deck and Danae laid them out in front of her. Fittingly, the last card was Death, as if the cancerous tumor on her spine justified its appearance. Without radiation treatment, she would only have months to live.
Grab this great collection now and see what’s about to happen to Lexi! I love the variety offered in these books, and I am certain that you will as well!
To try and review each book on its own would be impossible. The only thing that I wish had been done differently..I wish the characters would have flowed from the first book to the last so we could have known what happened to each.
