There are grisly murders in Venture; women are missing and at least 2 are chopped to bits and displayed to leave a message... 14 but does that mean that he will murder 12 more times or that these 2 make 14 so far?
Mark Purcell was once Dani's sweetheart and is now the Sheriff of Venture. He believes Dani's recurring dream that there will be an SCU Agent kidnapped and the serial killer has a trap set for Bishop and his agents.
This is the first book Haven the non official branch of the SCU is mentioned.
I know this because the storyline for the first time is carried over from book to book instead of being resolved at the end of the books. I loved this story because it has all kinds of interesting twists. The paranormal, a touch of romance, and a serial killer who just might be psychic. I loved Dani and Marc together. I liked that there was past history and hurt feelings because it not only added to the story it also brought them closer to each other so that they were able to trust each other when they needed to! I'm glad that he was able to push her into a state of mind that allowed her sister to help her by giving her some great advice when she needed it. I also liked to learn that John and Maggie were able to set up a company of psychics like they talked about in their book. Bishop also was a major part of this story which was new and fun, and it was interesting to see Galen again. I would love to read his story! Again I would love to see Hollis have her own story!! I am warning you that I wasn't able to put this one down, not even to sleep because I just had to know what was going to come next. I didn't see the ending coming at all! I loved this book and think that her series is only getting better!

In "blood dreams",i thought the characters were just plain boring, these people are supposed to have the best paranormal abilities on earth, yet in this book, no-one can quite get their act together. some characters were just a waste of time & some were just not played out enough.
And overall, the storyline of this serial killer always getting away is just plain annoying, - this special crimes unit are not really that special any more are they! - they've been after this guy for ages & i quite frankly am sick & tired of him.
Can we please get back to the way this series started out, with a good fashioned thriller, with the added element of the spooky please.
