"I don't offer reviews very often. I've come to distrust the system that can be so easily distorted by shallow reviews or professional self interest. But occasionally... Just occasionally, I stumble across a book that is so different, so intriguing, that I have to make some noise about it. First of all, I do tend towards the damaged anti-hero type. I like the complexity, and I like the reality of the depiction of situations that are neither clear-cut in their solution, nor simplistic in their consequence. Life is never clear cut.
Next, the use of the Russian underground as a backdrop was fascinating, and unlike anything I've read. The storyline was dark, and not for the faint of heart. If you are looking for a fluffy romance with happy endings abruptly achieved in the final pages... Wrong book for you. Go find something in the YA section. This is grown-up stuff, and I am going to be counting the days until the next book in the series."- Brad, Amazon Reviewer
