The life of a police officer is dangerous. By utilizing the correct training we can increase our odds of surviving a violent encounter. With nearly two dozen deadly scenarios graphically detailed, the author provides an after action report and a "lessons learned" for each one. Each officer could use a reminder from time to time that the consequences of decision-making lapses can be disastrous. This book provides us with that reminder.

The only thing that irritates me about books like this is the fact that you can't get them in hard-cover format, which I much prefer. That said, this is a superb book for all interested readers, not just police officers. While certainly geared towards officer survival, the great thing about this book is that the vast majority of the "blood lessons" taught herein can also be applied to civilian situations, as well. Survival is what it is, and because you don't wear a badge or perhaps carry a firearm, there are still many situations covered within these pages that can apply to many different scenarios a civilian might encounter - either in an urban locale or out in more rural and/or wooded locales. Chock full of examples as well as lessons learned, this is a book definitely worth it's weight in $$...!!
