a story of strong, likeable characters
lots of action, suspense
lots of twists and turns
lots of questions to peak your curiosity and keep you intrigued
not a stand alone so you need to continue the series for answers
needs editing....badly! (a very negative and distracting issue for me)
Waking up in a stone coffin is a scary scene to start a book with. Transitioning through draining the EMT trying to save you to someone who inherited the job of taking care of you keeps things moving. Realizing you have amnesia and your saviors don’t know much about you either leaves the story line wide open with possibilities.
From this auspicious beginning, the story goes through a number of twists and turns with friends, enemies, and self discovery. The main character is well developed and the plot has enough twists to keep things interesting. I found the story fairly easy to stay involved with. There are a few places where things seem to skip a bit, but the story stays interesting.
The story has a real ending, yet leaves some of the biggest questions in the plot unanswered. I am assuming these will be answered in future books, but I would have liked to have a bit more of a resolution or at least a hint of where the answers will be found. So, a bit of a cliffhanger if not an official one. Still a good story and worth a read.
