The Blood Reaver isn't known for being good or charitable. So when he steps in to help young Rose who is trying to retrieve her stolen trunk, he is not doing it out of the goodness of his heart. He wants Rose and he aims to have her. He just ever expected to grow to enjoy her company and want to keep her for his own when their journey together comes to an end.
Although not as steamy as previous Devlin books, The Blood Reaver was subtle in its sensuality. It was an unexpected and pleasant change typically found in Devlin's books. I have come to expect many things from Ms Devlin. Among those is a steamy story with handsome rogues and headstrong women. Yet again she did not disappoint. Her knowledge of historical fact and terminology make every moment reading her books a pleasure.
Rose is in Port Royal abandoned after loosing her father and her brother. She must find a ship to take them home. Entering a not so great establishment to retrieve a stolen trunk, a man comes to her aid. Enters the Blood Reaver aka Turner Rayson, a Pirate that is known to be ruthless.
Rose and Turner come to an agreement for His ship to take her home. Rose brings fortune to the pirates and they don't want her to leave the ship. What happens when she finds out her "Sea Captain" is really a Pirate?
This story kept me on the edge of my seat. If you love Pirates this is definitely a story for you. A must read!
Here we have a hero who is a very handsome pirate who finds himself intrigued with a slip of a woman who marches in and peaks more than just his interest.
There is also a heroine who has a very brave soul and enough heat and spunk to march into a Tavern to get exactly what she wants. She might will be a lady of fortuna.
I loved Rose's skills of negotiation and Turner's determination. Sizzling chemistry.
