I highly recommend this book and I hope to read more from this author.
I was not familiar with stories of the Spanish Cival War but I found it most interesting. I found the characters intriguing and the twists and turns were also very appealling.
It was a fight for love and happiness from the onset and I for one was so happy it all ended well.
"Blood in the Valencian Soil" is a book I can highly recommend, it was a book I never wanted to end.
Looking forward to Carolines next book as I know it will be another excellent read....
Review: I love the way author Caroline Angus Baker mixes historical fiction with romance fiction. The book starts out as a bit of background for the rest of the book, but what I found was that it was done so well. It's written as part of the story, and not just a dump of information. It includes the characters while maintaining the feel of "necessary for the rest of the book." I did have some trouble pronouncing some of the accented words which caused me to pause and question myself, but that comes with a foreign backgrounded book. Well done Caroline!
