This is not just a romance but a coming of age novel. Axe finds more out about himself than he knew existed and becomes a valuable member of the team through his brave actions. Elise is yet another strong female as per Ward’s usual style but her character is also determined and challenging. The bond between the pair is strong but the reasons for them not to be together are getting in the way, causing a friction for all those around.
The story is yet another beautifully romantic episode to the Black Dagger Legacy with its intricately crafted world and amazing full-bodied characters.
I love love love Rhage. He is such a big character in every way big on love big on courage big on breaking down. I know that other reviewers were saying that this story was a continuation of the Beast but like I said before you can never have enough of a good thing and I love love Rhage. Also Lassiter made me laugh.
This is one of the few books that actually made me laugh and happy. I think JR Ward's character of Rhage is the best she ever done so whenever he is mentioned I will always want to read his story. The other brothers were mentioned but I do not understand the purpose of this BD legacy series if she has to involve the Brothers if it is supposed to be about the new generation of warriors.
Don't get me wrong...overall I enjoyed the book, consuming it greedily in only two sittings, probably because it felt like more of a Black Dagger Brotherhood' book rather than a Legacy one. I really hope in the future the story doesn't revolve so much around Hollywood, Mary and their child, I'm hopeful that if a Brother's story is to be revisited in the future it will be someone else's.
Now bring on April 4th already! I'm very much looking forward to the next installment of the BDB series 'The Chosen' and glad I finally gave in with 'Blood Vow' so the characters are all fresh in my mind.
This didn't have as much action as previous stories so felt a little flat in that regard but the sex was as hot as all get out so I'll forgive that!
I do, however, have one small complaint and that is that parts of the story felt familiar and, for me personally, I found Axe`s sexual deviancey too similar to V`s. It was a case of "been there, done that" which was a bit disappointing. Other than those small points, another great read.
No spoilers , if you're like me and love the Black Dagger Brotherhood then this is for you.
The fights, love lost found then lost again just kept coming
As always when reading these book's I become so immersed in the story that I take. on the role of the characters in the book. The vivid imagery paints picture's in your head throughout the book.
