Such as when Rsiran forges the strange half sphere under the direction of the lorcith and feels the call to forge the other half. Yet he up to the point I've read never does. Not to mention that Hearn seems to know what is so significant about the lorcith/heartstone alloy sword but he never says and no one ever asks.
It's a level of density in the characters that makes me feel like I'm reading about a group of idiots. I am still not finished this book and I will probably press on but I'm approaching the point of feeling like its not worth purchasing the next book. I don't give this criticism with any malicious intent as I really do enjoy the story and the ideas. I simply feel that it could use the attention of a decent editor and a bit of rewriting.
