Ms. Nicholas' writing is pristine, engaging, and sensual. Fun, at times, and hair standing up on the back of your neck at others. I think this is her best romantic suspense yet. No spoilers here, just a strong encouragement to buy it.
(I don’t give out spoilers)
Laura Nichols is just trying to get away from the rat race of Seattle. That’s why she bought the little cottage on the beach in the first place. Between the death of her parents and an uncle with plenty of secrets, some much needed solitude is all she needs. Until a man shows up on her doorstep—dead Enter Police Chief Nate Jones—hard-liner alpha male with a suspicious nature, he can’t hardly believe Laura’s story, especially since the so-called dead man she reports is missing. But as the mystery rolls on—and secrets are revealed—there’s more to Laura Nichols than it seems, and Nate feels a need to protect her at all costs.
This is the third book I’ve read of Ms. Nicholas, and it’s the best one yet! As always, she’s got a gift for action, and from the get-go, the reader is thrust into the depths of a mystery and love story that’s reminiscent of Heather Graham. Add in her snarky sense of humor, and I found myself laughing at the antics of her characters, including the best date-from-hell scene I’ve ever read. Blood Will Tell is a nail-biter of a romantic suspense with a who-done-it vibe that keeps you guessing until the very end. I can’t wait to see what Ms. Nicholas has in store for us next!
