It goes without saying that I love all of the dragon kings, but I particularly loved the pairing of Laith and Iona. She is such a strong female character. As a soldier and a traveling photographer, she lives simply and always on the road never setting down roots in any one place. And love, nope... she's not a fan of that concept.
She comes back to Scotland to re-connect with her father only to find out that he had died. Iona had an image of her father that turns out to be completely wrong as she gets to know all of the friends he left behind. What she doesn't know is that she has inherited a pact that has been handed down their bloodline for many generations. The land that she has inherited must be guarded and the kings have to find a way to ensure that the land stays in Campbell hands.
Laith has been put to the task of making sure Iona stays to take over the responsibility of the pact. When he meets Iona... well... let's just say the flames were lit!
Along with the blooming love story between Laith and Iona, we also get to see a new side of Rhi, the light fae. My heart went out to her so much. She is no longer the same fae that she was before she was tortured by the dark. It will be interesting to see how her character evolves from this point on... she is definitely more powerful than anyone realized.
Rhys, unfortunately, is not recovering well from the attack by the Dark fae in the last book. I was so sad for him. His injuries lead to something that every dragon king fears.Read more ›
Laith is a Dragon King. He can shift into a dragon. He doesn't want to fall in love and get mated like his friends have.
Iona is a photographer who has been away from Ireland for 20 years. Her father dies and she returns to handle the stuff that was left. She doesn't want to be in a realtionship. She is not a people person with deep trust issues.
She and Laith met and hit it off from the start. You find yourself willing them to be together and keep everyone safe.
There is fighting, secrets, a betrayal. It is action packed. This is my favorite in the series so far. You meet a few new characters as well as getting to keep up with the ones you already know. The next book in the series cannot come out quick enough for me.
Iona is independent and used to being alone. She also does not believe in love. She is never in one place for long and that’s just how she likes it, however she is about to discover that her past is not as it seemed. For years she believed one thing to find out that she had it completely wrong and has lost time she can never get back. As she discovers her heritage, she also realizes that there is more to life .When she lays eyes on Laith, for the first time she wants to stay and experience the passion that burns between them even if it can’t possibly last forever.
Laith is content with his life by doing his part of protecting the secrets of Dreagan and running his Pub. He has seen many of the other Dragon Kings find their mates and he believes he wants no part of it but what Iona makes him feel is indescribable. He longs for more time with her but is also afraid of how to tell her the dangerous secret that her family has held for centuries and could destroy all that they hold dear at Dreagan if found by their enemies.Read more ›

How much more will it take for a person to fall in love with a Dragon King? How can a King turn his back on his brothers after they protected him? This series is a must read.Published 2 months ago by Robin R. Cripps
