What made you decide to return to Andvell?
I knew when I wrapped up EVENLIGHT that I would be following up with Venn's story. She captured my heart with her sharp edges and vulnerable core, the contrast of her love of fighting and her desire to be included. She's wonderfully flawed, and her sharp tongue was so much fun to write.
Would I enjoy this series?
If you love a good action adventure fantasy that features a furry, metal-plated companion, an ensemble of flawed, quirky characters, and enemies that will make you shudder and double check the dark corners of your room, then yes. Especially if you get a kick out of the saltiness of the narrator's tongue.
If this is a follow up trilogy, is it necessary that I read The Meratis Trilogy first?
Not at all! While the two stories are tightly connected by existing in the same world and having a lot of overlap in characters, the time frame and tone are quite different. While The Meratis Trilogy plays with the whimsical nature of crossing world, The Cadis trilogy focuses more on the dark side of ego and self-perception. I also made a dedicated point to not offer too many spoilers for the first series in this one, so you can start where you like and, hopefully, move on from there.
