I really look at reviews and other info on books before I buy them to avoid those that end on cliffhangers, such as this one did. Although the story is great, and the book as free, I still would not have read it if I had known that the book was not a complete novel. If it was a complete novel I would have given it 5 stars.

1.Needs editing for grammatical and spelling errors. (3 stars)
2. Plot line is shallow. (2 stars)
3. And this is what ruined the story--it doesn't end. It's a cliff-hanger. So I search for the second book and I read the reviews and find that doesn't have a satisfying ending either. People are waiting for book three to come out. Yuk. (1 star)

well I got through 40% of the book (forcefully) and just could not go any further. I can't for the life of me figure where the good reviews came from. This has got to be one of the most boring, repetitive book i've ever read. Main character is the most dimwitted character. 20 yr old virgin who after 3-4 hours of knowing someone is trying to get laid. The storyline at 40% read, was just missing. I just could not force myself to finish it, and to think this is only the first book of this trilogy. Glad this one was free, no way would I pay the $2.99 each of the other books cost. I really don't like leaving bad reviews, but this book was just that bad. I really don't want to give it a star, but have no choice, they force us to leave at least 1.

This book has it all. Romance, action, intrigue and mystery. I found this book to be very engaging with its storyline and amazing hot men.(LOL) I was so into this book, that didn't finish my chores around the house. I will definitely get next book in series. I was frustrated where this book ended, but was glad to hear that next book will be coming out. Keep up the writing and I'll keep reading this series.

I really liked this book, there was a good mixture of everything. Romance, Mild Erotica, Suspense, & HOT HOT Men! I would take any one of those men any day. The end leaves you hanging and waiting for the next book. The characters and story were written very well and just came to life on the pages. I would recommend this to those who like the Paranormal genre. I certainly did. Can't wait for the next book to come out. Looking forward to see what happens next. No Spoilers here!

A bit confusing on all the characters n types... Light/dark, vampire, nigh stalker, changer, witch... Without going too much into building their types, just 1 line of explanation. Beside from the cliffhanger ending, which I absolutely hate, this author still got mixed up between "your" and "you're".... Definitely not recommended.

Since the sun set, I played bait and nearly ended up being devoured by a fanged demon. I was saved by both of my enemies – dark user and night stalker. I tried breaking up with my boyfriend, told him I love him instead, had insanely hot sex, found a dungeon full of dark play toys, and I was nearly ….well, I don’t even want to think about that last bit. Not to mention, I almost watched Kane kill a guy over me. Alyssa

As you can see, Alyssa does not live a very boring life. Alyssa is a mortal witch whose mother has been kidnapped and all that Alyssa has known turns out to be suspect. She has been told that Lycans, night stalkers and dark users are her enemies, but they seem to be the only ones protecting her from an evil force that wants information from her and her death. She has fallen on love with a human, whom she can’t protect, but who she also can’t seem to leave. There are beautiful girls being killed in her town and danger is lurking around every corner. NO ONE is as they seem and poor Alyssa is too innocent and trusting, and yet also too powerful from her mother and father’s line to be considered easy prey.

There is lots of sex and words like salacious, intoxicating and enamored to go with it. The relationships are loyal, if not truthful and the action is fast and furious and overall, really well written. I love C.M. Owens style of writing where we see Alyssa’s personality in her aside remarks while actually saying something else; it’s hilarious.

You want to meet me there around eleven thirty? - Kane
I’ve lost my damn mind. - (Alyssa)
I’ll just swing by and walk you home. I don’t like the vibe I’m getting from that guy. I don’t mind waiting in your living room.” -(Kane)
Oh damn. Tell him no. tell him never mind. - (Alyssa)
"Sounds good.

I loved this book, it was interesting. The female character is kind of silly in a realistic way. The main male character is hot, and mysterious. The secondary characters are fun and interesting as well.
In this book the female character is strong willed, but immature, as many young girls are.
The writing style is good. I liked the pace of the book; it wasn’t too fast to lose the mystery, and not too slow to make me lose interest. Most of the secrets get revealed in this book, the author just leave enough loose ends to make you want to buy the rest.
