Good story. Events early in life influence future generations. Enjoyed the character development.

Seldom do I read a book twice, especially if the second read is immediately after the first read. This book is a character study (or make that characterS study) that comes alive. The three Bloom girls' father is dead. He'd left the family and later the state, shortly after their parents' divorce. The two younger sisters (Violet and Suzie) have had a friendly, yet distant relationship with their father. Only Cal, the oldest, has remained close. Through the course of the week following his death and funeral, all three sisters re-evaluate their relationship with their father, with each other, and their own lives. It is a quiet novel bursting with personality and life. I had to read it twice to make sure I didn't miss a thing. And I'm likely to read it again -- as well as anything else by Emily Cavanagh.

The Bloom Girls could be titled The Morgan Girls and be a memoir instead of fiction. It was a fairly easy read: It flows well and keeps a good pace.

Light enjoyed it easy to pick up and spend an hour or two lying in the sun instead of gardening

A deep and emotional journey into the lives that make up a family artfully told from each of its three daughters' perspective.

I enjoyed this story a lot. It was a relaxing fun read about families and how they connect and don't connect, highly recommend.

This was a pretty depressing book. I wouldn't read it twice.

It was a boring book, hard time getting through it. Didn't like the story. I wish I never bought it.
