So far, after watching the first 12+ episodes of the second season, this is shaping up to be an excellent second season.

The show combines a quality police drama with strong relationships - especially within the Reagan family who are the focus of the show.

It's also nice not to have to put up with excessive language and crude comments.

All of the actors and actresses are top notch - especially Donnie Wahlberg (Danny Reagan) and Tom Selleck (NYPD Commissioner Reagan).

The first season release has a nice slim case, episode descriptions and several extras. I'm anticipating something similar in season 2. Picture and sound quality are top notch on the Season 1 DVD release. Even though I would like a Blu-ray release, the DVD picture is sharp and clear on Season 1.

I will probably update this review periodically throughout the season and then when it is actually released on DVD (or Blu-ray).

"Bluebloods", about a family of New York policemen, returns for a second strong season with CBS in 2011. Having vanquished the corrupt and lethal Blue Templars last season, the Reagan family, led by Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck), will face new challenges on the streets of New York City. The family includes his daughter Erin (Bridget Moynahan), an assistant district attorney; son Danny, a hard-charging detective; and youngest son Jamie, a new beat cop learning the ropes. The fine supporting cast includes Len Cariou as Frank's retired policemen father and Jennifer Esposito as Danny's detective partner Jackie Curatola.

The show continues to offer a nice balance of crime-of-the-week excitement and family interaction. Scenes around the Reagan family Sunday dinner table are a key component of the series, in which job squabbles and sibling rivalries get worked out with a little collective wisdom. Erin will juggle her legal duties with single parenthood of a restless teenager. Danny will be challenged throughout the season to balance his hardnosed, relentless conduct of his job with the demands of his family, including the fears of wife Linda (Amy Carlson) for his safety. Jamie, who seems to have a talent for undecover work, will be invited to infiltrate a mob family, at considerable risk. Frank Reagan will work with a new mayor and will face some gut-wrenching challenges, including the overturning of an old conviction on DNA evidence and an inflammatory racial incident involving a black mosque.

"Blue Bloods" is highly recommended to its fans as a solid, family-oriented police procedural.

This is an OUTSTANDING series that we look forward to watching every Friday night. We wish their were more series like this one instead of all the 'Reality' nonsense out there. The entire cast is terrific and we love the Family Dinners they have. We just wish they were longer. GREAT GREAT Show!

Blue Bloods portrays a lifestyle of commitment that we rarely see in modern television. Yes the family is hurt by the failures and struggles of each of its members, but it is kept together by love for each other and a deep faith in God. The acting is well cast and each character has a depth that the writers bring out throughout the series.

It just keeps getting better.

We love the characters, setting, and story lines of this series about an Irish Catholic law enforcement family in Brooklyn, New York. Excellent writing and acting make this good guy gets the bad guy show very entertaining. Unlike other cop shows this one does not glorify violence and the grotesque.

This series is terrific. Wonderful family show. Watched one segment every night. What else can I say besides Tom Selleck in the star; couldn't ask for anything better. Christine L.

Season two is just as good as the first season. More well written stories that keep you interested from start to finish. Wonderful acting and believable characters. Love the way the show ties in the five boroughs of New York whenever the story line, plot calls for it. I never watched this show before and I'm glad I didn't because now thanks to Amazon Prime I get to watch the show whenever I want with no commercial interruptions. Each forty-two minute episode is so enjoyable I find myself watching two or three in a row. I didn't know what to expect when I began watching Blue Bloods but apparently I really like it because I'm now up to season five

Blue Bloods is the best show on TV. Every episode holds your interest. I must say some storylines are far-fetched. The storyline about Jamie Reagan undercover with the mob. It makes no sense at all....not in this day and age. His Dad is the Police Commissioner. I am sure when the unseen brother died, there were pictures of the family mourning. Pictures of the family at public events. All they would hae to do is google and they would see the truth. Also the story about the firefighter who they thought was a suicide partially based on a conversation saying he was worth more dead than alive. Insurance policies don't pay for suicides. Having said all this, all in all....the show is great and I enjoy watching the episodes.
