Product Description

Our Blue ESR Meter has been very popular since 2007. This is the latest Bob Parker design and successor to the famous Dick Smith MKII ESR and Low Ohms Meter. This handy and affordable ESR meter measures capacitor equivalent series resistance (ESR) for capacitors >1uF and up to 450V. ESR is a very important quality and performance characteristic of capacitors greater than 1 uF. This meter makes measurements which are often impossible to check with capacitance meters. It also can be used to assess health for LV alkaline/rechargeable batteries, find shorts on PCBs, inductive coil shorts and for assessing incoming quality assurance of components and can also be used to test the low resistance grounding of ANSI/ESD S20.20, ANSI/ESD S6.1, ESD TR20.20 and compliance verification for grounding systems. Includes quality test leads with banana jacks, basic alligator clips, easy-access battery compartment and on-board diagnostics to detect errors. You can add the optional croc clips and/or probes or use your own. This has the MkII firmware, Bob's latest version developed over many years. It can accurately test ESR down to an internal battery voltage of 5.5 volts. It has a full 1yr warranty on parts and assembly from Anatek.

Saw Uncle Doug using this on YouTube and thought I should get this as I had an old Fender amp I was restoring. This is the tool to have for checking old electrolytic capacitors.

Works well. I ordered tweezers for making it easier to test on board components. Even without the tweezers, this esr meter is easy to use with an easy to read chart on the front.

This is the worst piece of test equipment I ever purchased! Don't waste your money! My opinion it's junk!

I purchased this because I had the original Bob Parker meter that I built from a kit and needed an additional one. NOTE: This one comes fully assembled.

Very useful to identify bad capacitors that otherwise would not be detected. If you repair or work with vintage electronics you need this.

I am heavily involved with repairing and building vacuum tube amplifiers and use this piece of test equipment regularly. Great device!

Already used to test and ensure one of my caps that got too hot wasn't ruined, and it tested great.
