Drunk at an all-inclusive and pretending to be an engaged couple... what could go wrong?

Old flings, new whims, borrowed rings... Blue Film.

Elle

Ever since we were little I had a crush on Levi. The happiest day of my childhood was our pretend wedding at recess. Then, he turned into my biggest bully. Ending up at an all-inclusive resort together, intoxicated on the island's breezes and fruity drinks may lead to a bad decision... like walking down the aisle again.

Levi

I don't do relationships. But I have always wanted Elle, ever since our fake wedding in elementary school. It's why I was so mean to her. Now we are drunk and alone on an island. She looks too good to resist. Maybe I could make an exception for her.

  • An erotic romantic comedy
  • Childhood bully-to-lovers story
  • Dual POV
  • Perfect holiday read

It's recommended to read RED NIGHT first, but this could be a standalone.

A childhood crush into forever ☺️

A childhood crush into forever ☺️
I have to preface this with Kitty King is a magician with book boyfriends. The MMCs are always top tier, maybe sometimes unhinged, but hey no one is perfect. We begin on a scene of a childhood wedding of Levi Joseph and Elle Townsend, but even if Levi like Ellie he can’t let anyone know, so he bullies her and coins the nickname “Smelly Ellie”.As time goes on Levi continues to tease her, his friends make fun of her all to so no one can find out his true feelings. This causes them to grow apart, as Ellie is carrying animosity and resentment toward Levi for everything in their past. Not to worry though, in college we meet the two again when Xavier (my favorite unhinged zaddy 😜) runs into Elle at a party and Levi is shook: the love of his life has appeared. Now Elle continues an internal struggle with how she feels for Levi, but the charmer he is ultimately wears her down. One night they finally get together and as history has taught us *poof* Levi disappears. Elle is obviously having major internal “i told you so and how can you be so foolish moments”while not buying into Levi’s excuses. As fate (she’s really the worst sometimes) would have it the two of them end up being the only guests left at Levi's brothers called-off wedding which is at romantic island resort. What else can you do when your childhood love is with you…alone, you get married of course and relive your childhood fantasy! The rest of the story is full of twists, turns, buried secrets, struggles and heartbreak. The thing I love the most about "Blue Film" is the absolute dedication and determination Levi has to keep Elle, no matter what. He fights for her and keeps fighting to have and to hold Elle, she is EVERYTHING to this man. So to say I was continuously swooning is an understatement. I laughed, cried, gasped, cringed and obviously swooned. I absolutely devoured this book in one sitting. It’s a quick, fast paced read that checks all of the boxes."Blue Film" is book 2 of the Color Series and even though its interconnected, to really be able to appreciate the story and the universe King has created for us readers, read "Red Delight" first (trust me you need Xavier in your life)✨Tropes: Childhood Bully to Friend to Lovers, Impromptu Marriage, Filming 😈,Possessive MMC, MF🌟Microtropes: Rom Com, Light Angst

It's a very cute, sweet story and full of spice. Love this series and can't wait to read the next story

About 60% in I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to finish this book. Sometimes I swear authors are just too hard on their MC’s and really make them fight for their HEA. I stuck it out though, and the book had a nice finish. Not as great as the previous book in the series, but still good.
Elle and Levi were two sweet characters, and Levi was an amazing book boyfriend. Loved his character!

If you're looking for a sweet read that gives slight (I mean slight) sweet home Alabama vibes, then you'll love this!! This was the perfect homage to childhood sweethearts and I was rooting for this couple the whole time! They had a rough start to things that only continued to try and keep them apart and phew was that ending just tear inducing 🥹 this wasn't what I was expecting from the latest installment of the color series but I absolutely loved every minute of it.. even if I was on edge like this was a suspenseful read.. it is not but if you read a lot of kitty king, you'll understand why I was stressing 🤣 but anyway, this is probably her most wholesome write to date.. I mean it's k!nkay and sm3x filled obviously but heart touchingly sweet.

i like a fast burn. but this was just a wham bam thank you mam kind of thing. i would’ve loved to have had a LITTLE more backstory about their pasts. instead of going from middle school to college. and the ‘plot twist’ of the dad.. totalllyyyy saw that coming 😂 still a good quick read tho’

If you like some sweet with your spicy, Kitty King’s second book in her Color Series, Blue Film will absolutely deliver. It can be difficult to find a story that’s legitimately engaging on an emotional level and brings the heat. I really, really loved the way King set up the story with a “childhood enemies” scene involving Levi and Elle, but also throwing in the beloved Xavier from Red Night. (While you could read Blue Film as a standalone, it will make the character motivations more believable, and give some different perspective to Red Night.) Levi and Elle are very likable and their chemistry jumped off the pages and burned like a day languishing at the beach.

What I really like and appreciate as a fellow erotica writer is that the love scenes, while very sweet, are also hot as fire, and Levi’s HDE came through to this reader (pun not intended, but hey…it works). And King had a knack in this story for twisting a sugar daddy deal into a surprise I didn’t want to think could be true, but surprised the hell out of me when I discovered it actually was—Ewww Factor 10.

There’s actually a great plot that unfolds where the reader will root for (no spoilers here!) Elle and Levi to give it a go—together—even if it’s not going to be easy. And, when Levi finally found a mentor, I teared up. Yup…sweet and spicy will not disappoint and it will definitely leave you with a fiery little burn you won’t forget.

Ms. King gave me all of the feels with “Blue Film.” For the "Teen Years," I felt like I was taken back to my younger days. The thick glasses (I still wear them), the braises (and they weren’t for my teeth, they were for my legs!) ANYWAY, I understood Elle more than I have any other FMC. The links between past and present was very childhood-sweethearts-to-lovers. Having read Red Night a few weeks ago, it is still fresh in my mind. The contrast between it and Blue Film is basically day and night - the color choices perfectly differentiated the two books. Blue Film felt like a palette cleanser that was very yummy.

PS: Can we give a shout-out to Elle’s pops? Mr. Townsend deserves an award for best supporting character here.

💙 Levi & Elle: I loved their dynamic, the flashbacks, and the comedic-timing to some of what they (mostly Levi) would say to each other. Levi’s writing ability is chef’s kiss and should be required when making boys. A lot of Levi’s thoughtfulness actually reminded me of my hubby.

☕️ I paired this with a mild blend (I love mild blends!). Café Yaucono was the brand of choice for this read. Yaucono has a medium roast that is smooth, rich, and balanced. Their bean is 100% premium Arabica coffee roasted in Puerto Rico… Most of my coffee will be from PR, as I’m obsessed with the island’s coffee. However, not all brands or roasts will taste the same.

🎶 Since Blue Film’s “teen years” had a huge impact on me and reminded me of my own childhood crushes, the playlist is going to be very old school Hip-Hop/R&B: Hot Like Fire by Aaliyah, Fallin’ by Alicia Keys, Baby by Brandy and Love Will Never Do (Without You) by Janet Jackson, I Just Wanna Be With You by *NSYNC, Reminisce by Mary J Blige.

🗓️ What’s Next? Kitty King can’t stop (won’t stop) with the “White Hole” teasers. September 1st can’t come fast enough. My mind and body are ready.

5.0 out of 5 stars The ups and downs of Levi and Elle
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 11, 2023
I’m loving this series so far! Really enjoyed book 1 and Xavier but I think I may have fallen for Levi just a little bit more.

This is a story of childhood bully/crush with duel POV. She’s a cam girl and he’s the protective MMC. With daddy kink, filming, drunken nuptials, family tension, perseverance and phone blocking

This was a great read from Kitty King. Very different and slightly lighter than book 1 but I so enjoyed the inner monologues particularly of Levi’s chapters, had me in stitches! Elle is such a sweetie but a little inexperienced in the art of decisions, so makes some questionable ones! Already on to book 3 to see how it’s plays out!

When they were young Levi & Elle had a pretend marriage but neither of them would admit how much they wished it was real now they are older. When his brothers wedding gets cancelled he talks Elle into taking the place of the bride and groom as everything was paid for and they ended up getting married . A family member has been trying to sabotage them for a while spreading lies that each of them believed of each other when the truth comes out they realise they’ve wasted time believing others when they should have trusted each other .
