A wonderful mix of Folk and country with the style of spoken word poetry. Many will know Bob as the co-founder of the classic band The Grateful Dead. This is an album that has a mixture of emotional baggage style lyrics. Very deep and moody, almost on the lines of a Depression speaking and yet a poetic undertaking. The rough style of vocals garnered around music creates an experience that is unforgettable. I feel this is an album that shines with a complex wordplay, and most of all folk style storytelling. It’s a wonderful example of stories created into music. It almost reminds me of the old Cowboy Poetry. You have a storyteller mixing it with musical tunes. Weir captures a flawless example of how to create an album of memorable stories, and music. One will find themselves returning to again and again. The album is a mixture of Bob Dylan and Baxter Black, and the force of originality that only Bob Weir can create and accomplish. Highly Recommended.
5 Word Praise: Stylistic, Flawless story telling. Prodigious.
