All that said when I first picked up my published copy and read it over a couple of days, I was excited about the insanely great possibilities Dave writes of once again. In a world that some have described as volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous, Blue Ocean Faith exudes hope and joy and adventure. I can't imagine myself attracted to a faith that didn't have the openness and humility and wonder that this take on Jesus-centered faith has.
The first thing I did when I put the book down was smile. I've remained pretty cheery ever since. That's because the vibrant approach to faith described here is free of so much of the pressure and stress and duty that I pick up in most works about religion. Dave's shooting for the moon here - why don't you join us in being part of a new Jesus movement? But for each of us, it's really just about permission to find our own way forward to the good God we meet in Jesus, to a wholehearted "yes" to where we sense Jesus leading, and to a generous posture toward everyone we meet along the way.
In our early days, we described our church as Practical, Spiritual, Fun. This book, and the faith it describes, is all that and more.
