    This is awesome. I used it as a tree-topper for a Christmas tree I decorated with a hockey theme, and it was attention-getting and fun. It's well made, has an on-off switch on the wire, and sits securely on a table. I glued mine to a rubber disc that I fitted onto a heavy cardboard collar to use as a tree topper, and it was very solid.

    It's bigger then expected, about the size of a volleyball. A red light remains fixed in the center while dual reflectors rotate around it. No batteries, it plugs into the wall. Makes a bit of sound as it turns which suggest it's not going to last a good deal of time but for a party (or Halloween prop as we used it for) it's perfect. Solid quality for the cost, no idea why other people rated is lower. I'm fairly picky with my electronics and am quick to call junk as being junk....this is a decent product.

    I expected cheap materials and low manufacturing quality I was however hoping that the light would actually be visible. The plastic of the dome is so thick and the color so saturate that you can barely see the light in a darkened room. Not worth the effort.

    But for the price, do you really expect it? my blue light of horris actually used at work. It sits on alitle cardboard shelf, and when on it let's folks know i am on the phone. There is some gear noise when the reflector is spinning, but I would say the sound of the gears is no louder than most people's keyboards clicking and clacking away. good for a party, or whatever else you have going on, time will tell how long it will go before those noisey little gears give up the ghost.
