Oh yeah - this is "The Stuff".
With the prices for the Name Brands being $6 to $7 here, I had been looking for a "suitable substitute". Our local small-town Grocery Store has a sale today for their (SUPER Bland) House Brand, and Blue Plate comes in even less expensive than that really super sale. Okay, the difference is only ONE CENT, but every penny counts, yes?
For years, I had always enjoyed the Best Foods/Heilman brand, and I felt Kraft was just too nice (read:expensive) for the likes of people like my family.. So, just as a matter of economy we tried this.
WHAT A DELIGHTFUL SURPRISE! This mayo is simply DELICIOUS. No other word will do.
This is definitely NOT some strange "interpretation" of what some weirdo thinks a mayonnaise should taste like, it is SPOT ON of what a true, simple, classical mayo is.
(I think it is especially suited for a base of the best traditional Tartar Sauce you can imagine, using only Lemon Juice and littering it some Dill Relish - nothing else)
Order lots extra, you will likely find that every time that fridge door opens, someone is loading up another "finger load" of this great product
It is THAT good.
