Now that I have everything mounted, it definitely does improve sound quality: removing all vibrations created from my desktop and such, but ultimately the mounting issues make this difficult to recommend—especially considering it's built specifically for the microphone I'm using.
-One of the very very few shock mounts that fits the Blue Yeti
-It extends the Blue Yeti further away from the mic arm making it harder to support
-Restricts the angles you can use the mic at
I bought this shock mount because it is one of the very very few that supports the Blue Yeti. I used a smaller shock mount before that wasn't meant for the Blue Yeti, but you could take out the middle part and the bands themselves would hold the Yeti. This worked for about 6 months until the bands started to weaken. It does a quality job, vibrations are eliminated and it holds the Yeti Securely.
On the other hand, It's unnecessarily large. Why does it need to be so large? What microphone could need this huge space in the middle? Even the huge Blue Yeti takes up such a small portion of that. Also with it being so big, it holds the microphone further away for the mount which creates are larger moment arm, so it might exceed your mic stand's ability to hold your microphone. I ended up having to but a new boom arm. Also the way the Blue Yeti is designed with is USB socket on the bottom left, prevents you from turning it to face you if you have your mic arm coming from your left as I do, because it the USB socket WILL be blocked by that huge metal triangle on the shock mount. Lastly, It is way overpriced for what it is.
Overall I'm not satisfied with the product or it's price, but I suppose that's what I'm forced into when I bought a Blue Yeti.
And for $20 I might understand how the mount DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR A YETI MICROPHONE could have a metal mount for it that grinds when trying to screw the microphone onto it. I understand how to thread a bolt into a threaded hole, I gave it several very meticulous tries to get it to line up better and it never did.
I spent 5 years working in the audiovisual field and screwed hundreds of mic clips on mic stands and NEVER had any issues even close to something like this; and those were different brands most of the time. That's how industry standards work. 5/8" is 5/8".
-Holds the Blue Yeti. This microphone is so heavy and uses the larger screw so it doesn't fit in a lot of cheap mounts, but this mount was made for the Yeti (literally).
-Does what it says on the tin. Well it comes in an easy-open clamshell, but still- it's a good shock mount, no complaints on function.
-Great materials. Like the Yeti itself, lots of quality metal. This will last.
-Multi-position locking hinge. The new hinge is a locking type, once you position the microphone and screw it down it isn't going anywhere.
-Heavy. Like the Yeti, this is all made of heavy metal (joke not intentional). Cheaper microphone booms will probably fold under the combined assault, but so long as your mount can take the punishment, this is quality equipment.
-Huge. The mount is actually too big for the Yeti, it could stand to be smaller. I assume it's made so large to give it excellent dampening, but the unit is very big. Together, this makes the Yeti a little cumbersome for a desk, even though the result is so beautiful I don't mind.
So there it is. This shock mount is very heavy so you need to be careful how you rig it up, but otherwise, the quality is amazing- and the price isn't bad either! Go for it.
If you're worried about it not meshing together based on the previous reviews like I was, the problems seem to have been fixed. I received this, the Rode PSA1 Boom, and a Silver colored Blue Yeti microphone on 14 Feb 2018. It all went together without issue.
Fantastic product, works very well.

Seems very expensive for what it is!
I'm happy to report after a month of discording, streaming, and audio recording using Audacity, there are ZERO discernible noises caused by vibrations or wobbling. In other words, it's doing exactly what I paid for. When I put down my coffee real hard or type really fast, even with a well-made RODE PSA-1 mount, there will likely be some minor vibrations. This can affect your sound quality. The shock mount nullifies this. I wish it could be cheaper, but I bought it because Blue makes it. I knew it would work 100% without fiddling or adapters or anything... and it does. No muss, no fuss.
Speaking of which, the installation was stupid easy. I recommend putting your Yeti in the shock mount BEFORE attaching it to your swivel arm... but it's fine either way. You will survive and prosper; I guarantee it.
Update 07/07/2017: After two months of straight streaming, I appreciate the shock mount significantly more. Even as I type these words, it causes the microphone to slightly vibrate... but you'll never hear it. Couldn't be happier :)
