Raspberry Premium Mobile USB Microphone
A Vocal Studio in the Palm of Your Hand
Raspberry is the ultimate mobile condenser microphone for voice and instruments. Informed by Blue’s illustrious studio heritage, Raspberry delivers dramatic, 24-bit studio-quality sound directly to your PC, Mac, iPhone or iPad. Raspberry’s new, patent-pending Internal Acoustic Diffuser (IAD) design resembles treatments found in studios and concert halls, focusing your voice or instrument while minimizing the sound of the room. Like a portable vocal studio in the palm of your hand, Raspberry gives you professional results—everywhere you go.
Go Anywhere. Sound Incredible.
Raspberry is designed to help you sound your best—no matter where you are. The integrated stand and plug-and-play operation help you start creating immediately. Pristine 24-bit audio lets you record and stream professional projects. Connect your headphones right into Raspberry for real-time, no latency monitoring of your recording. And the included soft-suede carrying pouch and compact form factor make it easy to move effortlessly between recording locations.
Blue Studio Legacy Goes Mobile
Raspberry takes your mobile content creation to the next level with a custom-designed capsule developed from Blue’s legacy of high-end studio microphones. The incredibly dynamic condenser capsule was specifically tuned to sound great up close or at tabletop distance—giving you optimal sound wherever you choose to place the mic. Raspberry’s patented premium capsule technology prevents distortion and delivers the clarity of a large-diaphragm studio microphone in a small, portable format.
The Many Flavors of Raspberry
Raspberry is the ultimate microphone for the mobile creator. Raspberry sets up in seconds with its integrated stand, giving you the power to create how you want, where you want. Record podcasts and interviews on location, live stream special events, or capture voice-overs, audio for YouTube, and music anywhere from home to hotel.
Bring Your Sound Into Focus
Raspberry’s new, patent-pending Internal Acoustic Diffuser (IAD) design resembles treatments found in studios and concert halls. By diffusing noise and reflections as they enter the microphone, IAD focuses your voice or instrument while minimizing the sound of the room, so you get the results of a professional studio—wherever you are.
Protect Your Recordings
Recording on-the-go means setting up at a host of different locations. In order to minimize handling noise and table rumble, Raspberry’s integrated stand features a connection insulator and rubber shock absorber feet. These components minimize contact with the desktop and isolate the microphone from vibrations and noise that can ruin your recordings.
Many Ways to Play
No matter which side of the tech fence you’re on, Raspberry has you covered. Connect to your favorite device and start creating fast, with plug-and-play operation for PC, Mac, iPhone and iPad and included USB and Lightning cables. And a 1/4” thread mount allows you to connect Raspberry to a variety of camera and video tripods—perfect for recording audio for YouTube videos.
For best performance, plug Raspberry directly into your computer’s USB port. Avoid using a USB hub.

UNUSABLE: MIC SENSITIVITY EVEN AT LOWEST LEVELS CLIPPING AND CAUSING DIGITAL DISTORTION
Raspberry Mic purchased via your Amazon Store. Received yesterday and tested it on the following... also purchased extended warranty plan.
• iPhone 8 Plus
• 2 different iPhone 6s
• New IPad Pro 9.5 inch
• Gen 1 iPad Pro 12 inch
• 2015 MacBook Pro 15 inch Running High Sierra
All IOS DEVICES running 11.1
Input on IOS: lightning cable
Input on Mac: micro usb to standard usb male
Headphones: AKG 240s
* Clear Record
* Voice Memos
* Onboard video camera
* Logic Pro X
All tests were repeated using both 16 and 24 bit recording settings.
I set mic gain and headphone jack to zero on each test and dialed in levels from there to ensure no clipping on mic or software.
All tests were ran using same varied proximity and off axis microphone recording methods.
PROXIMITY: off axis
16 inches to 8 inches
4 inches to 12 inches
>Ran voiceover tests on all devices using standard settings.
>Ran vox Singing test on all devices using standard GarageBand presets.
Every single recording regardless of gain setting or proximity had digital clipping even at low vocal power and was unusable. Even at levels so low that it would barely register on the wave form digital clipping and distorting occurred.
This mic is unusable and needs to be replaced.
Tested against a Samson Meteor Mobile Mic which had no problems with above tests. The Blue Raspberry is clearly rated to be a higher quality near pro level mobile microphone than the Samson. My particular product must be a lemon as it does not live up to the hype.
>small size and easy to go mobile.
Over sensitivity on my particular mic tested causing digital clipping at even low levels rendering the mic unusable.
I will adjust my rating when I receive a replacement to test. My guess is that I received a malfunctioning product. So I will let people know when the problem is addressed.
I am a pro user of Blue products and this is first one I have purchased which is unusable out of the box.
I am leaving for travel next Monday and had planned on using this new mic for some voiceover and mobile media production work. Please rectify this problem. Thank you.
On to some of the features. Obviously portability is key here. The mic will easily travel with you do to it's convenient size. The attached mic stand is extremely versatile. Even more clever is the tripod hook up which will allow you to hook this up to a standard camera tripod. Buy yourself a tiny one and you can take it with you on the road if you prefer to stand...which I do. Or if you wanna hook the mic up to a regular mic stand it also comes with a hook up for that...which works flawlessly. The mic gain adjuster is responsive. The mute button is extremely cool to. One feature that separates the raspberry from both the apogee mic and the irig mic studio is that it has true zero latency headphone monitoring. Great sounding at that. While I hate to admit this...I really can't do my work without monitoring myself in my headphones. Too many years of hearing my own voice, ahhah.
From a physical stand point of course this mic like all blue mics...is beautiful. Such a cool looking mic. They did a good job with the grill/capsule area as well. I can put my mouth about a fist length away talking off axes from the mic and I have no need for a pop filter if I use good mic technique.
As far the devices I tested this on, I used windows 10 and....I used my samsung galaxy S7. It worked flawlessly on both. So although this mic does not advertise as being android friendly it worked great for me with a simple otg cable connector. Though I've heard it won't work on all androids.
Perhaps my one complaint is that if you really turn up the gain you're gonna start to hear some mic noise. But at reasonable gain levels it's very quiet. Also as far as the claim that this mic helps to cut down on outside noise...I'm not so sure it does that in a major way. Though I did feel like even when recording in poor conditions it wasn't terrible. But certainly you're better off finding a quite/dead space.
But in the end I think this mic is killer bang for the buck. And I would expect to see it come down in price over the years. It really puts high quality portable sound within the reach of many. At $199 bucks the average VO talent can buy this mic, a decent pair of headphones, and an inexpensive audio software...and boom they're in business. And for those VO talent who travel with all their gear when on vacation...try the raspberry. I'd rather not have to lug all my stuff with me wherever I go.
The raspberry sores with flying colors if you're looking for a great sounding portable mic to use on your laptop, iphone, and even android with certain phones. And it's very competitive even to use as your main mic in your home studio. Simply put...this mic rocks!
1) I wish it had a high-pass filter switch/button. The onboard monitoring is very handy for zero-latency recording, especially when laying down vocal ideas, but the mic's low-end is a bit prominent and boxy. Would be nice to roll off those lows for both better monitoring and recording.
2) The knobs are a tiny bit cheap feeling. Especially how hard it is to push the volume button to mute/unmute. They should have splurged for a more solid plastic or metal.
3) There's no shock mount offering from Blue. I guess you could use a Yeti stand or something, but it'd be cool if they made a cute little shock mount for these things. It's such a nice looking little mic, it deserves one.
I'll have to experiment more with proximity to try and tame the low end. I recorded some guitar at the 12th fret, aimed at the sound hole and it sounded nice and clear, if a little boomy and mid-rangy, which I dialed out in Logic. I also haven't tried my Senheisser HD600 headphones to see how well they're powered. I'll give an update soon.

It is a good microphone, but has stopped working in the latest models, iPhone.
Specifically, I tested on an iPhone 8 and iPhone X, and the microphone does not work.
Put in contact with the support of Blue email@example.com, they have not given me any solution.
I leave this comment as a warning for future buyers.
The sound is surprisingly great for this size.
I'm using it to make voice over for online videos and it makes me sound like a PRO!
