Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is one of the key elements of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) process used by Diesel Engine builders to meet EPA 2010 regulations. Diesel Exhaust Fluid is a nontoxic solution of 67.5% purified water and 32.5% ultra pure automotive grade urea. Diesel Exhaust Fluid is not a fuel or fuel additive. Instead, when injected into the exhaust stream and passed over a catalyst, Diesel Exhaust Fluid helps convert NOx into nitrogen gas and water vapor – two harmless and natural components of the air we breathe.

There was NO date code stamped on the product I purchased. Even steamed off the shipping label. Had my wife look in case I was missing the obvious. NO date code.
This stuff is going in the trash. I will not use without knowing when it was manufactured.
Personally, mine alerts at 1/2 tank with is 2.5 gallons. I wait until it alarms 1/2 level before filling and I can always get a full one in when this happens, without any fear of overflowing the tank.
If you don't know, most trucks will run on reduced power until you fill the tank if empty. The power gradually reduces to 40% so you don't want ot run out DEF regardless of how much a waste a time you think it is.
It seems to work, that's all I can report.
Much cheaper than going to the (St) Dealer.

I used my DEF Defractor to test it and it was out of spec. I did not nor will I use it in my car as I don't want to
compromise my SCR System.
