I upgraded my system and decided that I should upgrade my cables in the process. Besides, I also wanted to use the HDMI connector and avoid a possible signal degradation issue when using an adapter.

This cable has a very well-built feel to it, nice feeling materials. It connects well with the extended screw grips in the DVI side, and the HDMI side plugs in firmly and stays where it's put. I like the matching blue ends to help identify these connectors among the dozens I have due to the several systems behind my desk.

I use this cable to switch between multiple connections on my monitor and it's working great for that purpuse. I can switch to the VGA port to use my KVM and support several systems there, or back to my DVI port and this system. It allows me great flexibility in chosing which device uses the monitor at the time. The length is about right for placing a system on the floor behind a desk and them reaching up to a monitor that's mounted on a arm system like I have. It's long enough that I can swing the arms around and nothing binds. See my other reviews if you are considering a monitor mount as there's a nice one for a good price on Amazon too.

Had laptop with only HDMI out and wanted to connect monitor that only had DVI. Worked perfectly. Great length for monitor next to laptop, but would be too short for other situations.

I really like the blue in these cables. If you have no choice and cables have to show, the splash of blue is a nice design flare. Be aware that the head of the DVI is slightly larger than many DVI connectors and this could cause challenges if the back of your display has space limitation. Check out my attached image. I had to bend the neck of the cable, and apply some pressure to get it to fit our Dell displays.

If you don't know -- as I didn't -- the V in DVI is for Video, whereas the M in HDMI is for Media. The difference is the audio. Connecting this as I did, to the DVI port on my computer and an HDMI port on a TV, does transmit the video signal correctly, but DVI is video-only, whereas HDMI includes both video and audio, so a separate audio interface is necessary.

I'd like to emphasize that this is not a shortcoming of this cable in any way, but if you're trying to do what I did, be warned about the audio aspect.

Cable does the job connecting Raspberry PI to computer monitor without HDMI input. A few more words to meet the minimum word requirement.

Update: This Cable also Carries AUDIO to my HDTV; Excellent Picture Quality as well

(It is commonly believed that DVI does't carry sound which is true in most cases but in today's technological advancements some Graphics/Video Cards do transmit audio) I have a computer which doesn't send audio with DVI-D and I also have a computer which does with both DVI-I & DVI-D :)

SERVICE: I received the package on time.

IT WORKED: This Cable is "DualLink DVI-D" I connected this cable on my computer's DVI (output) to my TV's HDMI (input) and it worked well, so my TV is my new Monitor for my computer. This Cable worked for me just like an HDMI Cable because it also Carried Sound just like HDMI Cable.

QUALITY: since I have an old TV I really can't comment on the picture quality, However, there seems to be no signal loss even when the length of the cable is 15 feet. The cable is really built of nice quality, seems to be durable and have pretty professional quality connectors on both ends which I liked.

PRODUCT: Excellent Quality; Built to last for a long time; apparently no signal loss. Light Weight connectors probably won't put pressure on your equipment or pull them down.

LENGTH: just a couple of inches longer than 15 feet (which is actually nice)

CONCLUSION: Nice Value for Money, LOOK NO FURTHER

CAUTION: Be sure that you need DVI-D.. DVI-D is Digital Signal and while DVI-I is both Analog and Digital Signal, to see the exact difference please the copy paste the following Wikipedia to view with illustrations and images [...]

Its pretty simple to differentiate.

This is a review of BlueRigger's High Speed HDMI to DVI Adater Cable ~6'.

First off you should know although this cable's DVI end appears to be DVI-D dual link, it is NOT. It is single link. HDMI is single link. There is no such thing as dual link involving an HDMI cable including this cable. That means the maximum resolution with this cable is only 1920 x 1080.

This cable is also NOT high speed as advertised. Dual link is high speed DVI, which is ~9.9 Gbps. Single link DVI maximum speed is 4.95 Gbps. That means the maximum speed of this cable is 4.95 Gbps, which is not high speed DVI.

This cable also does not work with all devices, so I recommend being careful where you purchase it from in case you need to return it. It would not work with my AMD video card and ViewSonic monitor. I received a "no signal" error. An HDMI > HDMI or DVI > DVI cable would be a better sure bet.

Cable appears to be 28 AWG.

Be careful out there shopping. Test what you get to ensure the cable does what it says it does! Return it if it does not.

Keep in mind with BlueRigger, there is no phone to contact them. All contact including technical support is by email. I sure didn't think I'd need tech support, but I did!
