Tara is a bit frustrated with her perfect husband who seems to not do anything special in the bedroom, not even masturbate as well as never shared his sexual fantasies with her. On a mission, she snoops until she eventually stumbles upon John's little secret, his explicit phone conversations.
Slippery when wet, perfect wording for this novella. This would definitely go in the category of (try-sexual); if you're adventurous, then try it. In this novella, you experience a couple's sexual fantasies and awakenings floats to the surface. Being a frustrated wife trying to communicate with her husband to open up about his fantasies, Tara definitely learns a few things and did a few things that she wouldn't normally do. With the help of her best friend Kelly, things become a bit more interesting. Though this was an enjoyable read, I didn't care much for the storyline. The story was written in Tara's POV, and with a story such as this, I surely wanted to know what John was thinking at certain points in the story. With Tara's POV in focus, that causes me to feel how Tara felt, frustrated. I also found that some of John's actions got me a little upset. Nevertheless, with the story's kinkiness and sexual escapades found within (95%) ninety-five percent of the book, erotica readers will not be disappointed.
This book contains explicit fantasies, graphic sexual m/f/f scenes, which includes m/f/f grouping mixtures.
Length: 2004 / 118 pages
Intimacy Level: D.R.I.P (don't read in public) / VERY SPICY
What a great surprise. Yes.... lots of what is expected in content... but extremely well written, nice plot development as well as character growth. This was a very pleasant surprise. The length of the book was also a pleasant surprise-- not the usual 9 page and done.
Selena Kitt is my new go to for this genre.
When I read the excerpt for this story, which was for the scene in the garage after the party, I really thought I would love the intensity of this story. It was definitely intense but the story wasn't as realistic to me as it was to other reviewers. I understand the Madonna/Whore Complex so that part of the story I did find to be very realistic. The way John can only see Tara as the sweet and innocent type is pretty common. Since Tara is the woman he is spending the rest of his life with and will inevitably become the mother to his children, he doesn't want to think of her as a naughty vixen. I would think there are many men who don't necessarily want their wives to be the porn material they fantasize about. That being said I completely understand Tara's desire to change that viewpoint. Tara and John are married so they should be more willing to share their fantasies with each other. But since John cannot reconcile with the idea that his wife could actually be the siren he doesn't attempt to talk to her about it, since he has the idea that she's just the sweet and innocent type so naturally she wouldn't be interested in the many many kinky things he wants to explore.
That was about as much as I could get behind in this story. I thought both of their reactions to certain things to be quite bizarre. I could understand at first why Tara didn't want John to know she had woken up while he was entertaining himself in their bed or that she knew about the phone calls but when she makes such an effort to be the center of his sexual interest I would've expected a little more of a real life confrontation between the two of them when he didn't reciprocate that. It takes two women to make him realize that he can confide in Tara his desires. That doesn't really sit well with me. I have no problem with menage at all but the way this was executed I found to be more sleazy than kinky or erotic. Which may have been exactly what Selena was going for in the first place, it's just not my cup of tea.
I appreciated how much effort Tara put in trying to gain her husband's confidence in her where his sexual appetite is concerned but I had a hard time with all the lying that was going on. And I'm sorry but even though you're fooling around with another woman instead of a man it's still cheating and I'm not OK with that. Tara takes Ecstasy and willingly participates in sexual encounters with people other than her husband, which never comes up again. It's never a problem that John is not only spending tons of time, but money as well, on 900 numbers or that even after some of the most steamy sex they've ever had together he has to turn around and get on a sex line again. I really can't see any marriage going along like this and ending up good for anyone. Honestly I found myself wondering at which point in the book Kelly or Tara were going to bring up a possible sex addiction.
I actually found the f/f scenes to be more enjoyable than the scenes with Tara and John or with Tara, Kelly, and John. They didn't feel as forced. But that's strictly in regards to sex only. The only one with John I really liked and got into was the scene in the garage.
I'll definitely read more of Selena's work because it's obvious she is a great author. The storyline for this one was just a little weak and unrealistic to me.
If you have a problem with menage, anal play, consensual daddy/daughter sex fantasy between adults, married couples engaging in sexual fantasies with people other than their partners, exhibitionism, and/or f/f/m combinations this is definitely not the story for you.
