About the Author
Thanks to readers who have made me an Amazon bestselling author of historical and contemporary western romances. My books have garnered numerous awards. My recent novel, BLUEBONNET BRIDE, is a poignant tale of tender redemption. A frequent speaker at conferences and seminars, I’ve taught workshops on characterization, point of view, and layering a novel. I’m a member of Romance Writers of America, Dallas Area Romance Authors, Yellow Rose Romance Writers, and Hearts Through History Romance Writers. My career has included stay-at-home mom (my favorite job), newspaper reporter and featured columnist, assistant to the managing editor of a psychology journal, and bookkeeper. My husband and I live in the heart of Texas cowboy country with our menagerie of rescued pets. When I’m not indulging my passion for writing, I reading, travel, antiquing, genealogy, and getting together with friends. Find me on my blog, website, Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads, and Pinterest. The story line may not be unique, but the book becomes enjoyable in building up a close knit family, love and respect within the family. The widowed daughter Lucy touches the heart, so also Joel Stone who marries the widow. Each of the character has been brought to life.
The Men of Stone Mountain are former civil war soldiers, former Texas Rangers, smart, hardworking, handsome, strong, but gentle and loving with their women, children, and widowed aunts. The women are strong and feisty. The children are precocious and lovable. The secondary characters are well developed and blend in and out within the story and main characters flawlessly. The villains are so evil, the reader feels the fear and can't wait for their downfalls.
This reviewer will not give the story plots away as it is best to get this trilogy as soon as possible and prepare to read non-stop and enjoy! These books have all it all, especially mysteries needed to be solved with plenty of bad guys that need justice. I have read many of this author's previous books and have not found one yet that disappoints. I can hardly wait to re-read this trilogy again, it was that good!
I received a free copy but voluntarily reviewed.
It may be a little hard for someone in our times to accept that someone could be convicted on so little evidence, or that women could be treated as second class citizens in the late 1800s, but situations like this did happen. Reading about good, solid characters like the Stone family members inspires me to keep my faith in the goodness in most people.
