If you just need a regular notebook get a regular notebook. If you are looking for something to adapt to your system - "The" notebook that you keep notes in and then move into files, scan, or whatever you do - highly recommend. Doesn't come pre-programmed with a system but highly adaptable to whatever works for you. Love it and worth the extra cost.

A few pros and cons below. And if you don't get the obsession over looking for the perfect notebook and writing a long review about one, this probably isn't the right product to spend money on. I feel like I've been on a lifetime search and this might be the closest thing to really good that I've found yet.

Pros:

LAYS FLAT. For real, lays flat.
Lightweight but super-durable.
Pages tear out easily without ripping and making a mess.
This size is easy to carry.
Quality paper.
Tabs to organize different areas of the notebook (in an ideal world I wish they could be removed and reapplied but that's shooting for the moon).
Labels for the outside and spine of the notebook.
I Googled "best notebook for organization" and this came up, tried it, and haven't been disappointed.

I strive to follow the organization system laid out in David Allen's "Getting Things Done" so this is my 'one' notebook where everything starts. It gets the job done and allows me to break notes out into raw daily things, projects, next actions, waiting for, someday, and anything I need to scan/store in Evernote comes out easily without tearing.

So whatever system you try to use you can probably make it work. Just note it's not 8.5x11; I think they make those though.

Cons:

A little expensive.

I wasn't sure what to expect, since photos online can often be misleading. But, the paper quality is excellent, you can customize your system of tabs, and the rigid cover keeps it all neat and clean.

I would love a bigger one very much like this, maybe 12X14, with 6 or 8 tabbed plastic divider sheets that you can label and install wherever you need the division. Room for a front pencil pouch would be nice, too.

I was looking for a compact yet durable notebook to use at work for recording project details, meeting notes, etc. These notebooks work perfectly for what I needed! The outer cover is thick like a hardback book and very durable. The pages inside are just the right size for note taking without being too big and also are perforated in case you need to remove certain pages without leaving a mess behind. If you're looking for a notebook to use at work I highly recommend this one. It is the perfect size, durable, and looks much more professional than some of the other "school-grade" notebooks that I've seen used.

I have to be honest - I looked at this notebook and thought "What's the big deal? Looks pretty blah to me!" But when my son opened up this gift (that had been on his Wish List) at Christmas, he was quite happy! He listed all the problems with most notebooks (pages falling out and tearing?) and explained how this one is different, and superior. I admit, I don't recall exactly what he said about it. But I do know that as a writer, he wouldn't go back to any other type of notebook now that he's using the Blueline NotePro. As for me, I do have one criticism of the product even though I don't use it: the color! I ordered blue - but we literally had to hold it up to his pre-existing black one in order to be sure that it was blue. It was that dark! There wasn't much difference between the blue and the black. I think that Blueline should make colors that look like colors - brighter, not so dark and dull!

I really like these notebooks! I am very picky about the type of paper I use and these notebooks do not disappoint. I like that they are spiral bound. They are quite pricey though so not ideal for class notes.

Hands-down the BEST notebook available. No snagged spirals. Hardbound for you to get smooth writing and a solid writing surface. The lines are bold enough but not over-powering. I am not really a fan of the stickers they include. I don't know how many people actually use them. And the paper is well-perforated so it rips out easily and completely. This is an OCD-persons dream. So pristine and clean in look and function.

And their notebook that has grid paper on one side and lined on the other? A science teacher's dream-come-true!

Love these notebooks. Have used them for years for note taking. Especially like the way the spine lets you fold the notebook back on itself when needing to take notes on your lap. There is a plastic holder in the back for sliding in the handouts in meetings. Also, a sheet of tabs and labels that allow great personalization.

These are my favorite notebooks of all time. The spiral binding is great but since it is inside the cover it doesn't snag or get bent. The stickers that can be used as divider labels are great if you want to have different sections. The blue is almost black, a seriously dark navy that I would only consider blue when it is laying on top of my black one of these. The color isn't a concern for me so it doesn't matter.
