The 4 stars, instead of 5, is due to a design flaw that I feel is both the fault of Apple and Blue Lounge. While pretty, and functional with the iphone on it's own, the headphone jack being moved to the bottom of the iPhone, and for those of you with a none iPhone5 the location of the cable port on the bottom, makes the height of the suction pad to low to be used while the phone is plugged in.
A great, effective, attractive iPhone stand. It does what it is made to do.
The micro suction pad is really impressive. It holds strong, and leaves no markings. This allows me to stick my iPhone vertically or horizontally on the suction pad. This is especially useful if I'm charging my phone because the iPhone need not be touching the base. I suction pad will 'suspend' the iPhone in the air, allowing room for the charger cable connector.
Caveat: I have found that it only works on the naked iPhone. It does not if your iPhone has a case.
Even if you have a case, this stand is elegant and useful.
I've had this for several months, and the suction pad is as strong as it was new, and much to my amazement, has not become dirty.
I hope this helps!
This stand is awfully simple, but it's also awfully practical. Basically, I wanted a small stand upon which to rest my iPhone 4s, in front of my iMac. Now, the reason I would want such a stand is two-fold. First, I'm somewhat of a neat-freak. Second, I'm somewhat of a klutz. Those two characteristics might not seem to match up, but I believe I possess them, and they result in my desire for such a stand. I ran across the Milo, and it's worked out pretty well so far, but let me articulate a few specifics.
1.) The Milo ships in a small box with easy-peel covers over the face and base.
- Once you remove the piece that covers the underside of the stand, it does not shift around the desk at all, but it will lift easily, without leaving any mark.
- Once you remove the piece on the face, an iPhone or iPod, with a smooth back, will adhere, suspending the phone.
2.) I use an InCase slider case for my iPhone 4s, with a soft-touch finish, which keeps it from gripping to the face. However, the phone will still rest beautifully on the lower, black lip of the stand.
3.) With the phone in this stand, just in front of a 27" iMac, the entire phone is easily visible without blocking any portion of the screen.
4.) The styling falls reasonably well in line with Apple products and their simple lines.
5.) With the phone in this stand:
- I am able to see incoming calls and text messages and determine which are worth my effort without shifting my eyes too far from the screen.
- I am able to manipulate the screen enough, with a single finger, to make new calls and send brief replies to text messages.
- I am able to work the menu of music apps while the phone is plugged into my external speakers.
To put it simply, for $13.95, you really get a nice little stand.
I can see that some cases might not work as well horizontally but all should work vertically. I will be buying their product for tablets too.
