About the Author

Bud Willis spent 34 years in the securities business before publishing his first book, Bluestocking. His diverse experience as a financial advisor, aviator, athlete, entertainer, motivational speaker and humorist gives him an uncanny ability to engage the reader from page one. The former editor of a university literary puplication, Willis has a natural, Southern style that is both compelling and addictive. The subtle magic of his stories tugs you into each scene and leaves you with both a smile and a tear. Bud and his wife, Lee, are retired in Naples, Florida in a community called Tuscany Reserve. Format: Paperback
This is the story of the Willis family of Tullahoma, Tenn., , a mother and nine children struggling to make ends meet after the departure of their abusive, alcoholic husband and father. Though Bud Willis grew up to be a stockbroker, it's clear he missed his true calling -- to be a writer. This book is extraordinarily well-written. Keep a box of Kleenex handy for the final few pages.

I knew Buddy growing up. I feel like he poured his heart and soul into this book. So many things I did not know, happy and sad. I bought it for my brother and am buying it for Christmas presents this year.

I read this in a couple of days. Even though the author was 15 years my senior, it was a good story and neat to read about the home town. If you're from the Tullahoma area, I recommend it.

Very good read. My husband and I both read the book. He grew up in Tullahoma. We have learned where Bluestocking Hollow is.
