When l first purchased Bluetooth speakers several years ago.... these were the speakers l chose. They were fairly easy for a first-time Bluetooth user like me to learn to use. They are conveniently small and portable.... And the shape and weight seemed to appropriately contribute to good stability when you set the small speaker down on a surface. I also like how they look... And the basic operating features were not overwhelming or confusing. THEY ALSO KICK OUT A SURPRISING AMOUNT OF SOUND FOR THEIR SIZE...AND EVEN THE BASS QUALITY WAS GOOD FOR SUCH A SMALL SPEAKER. (I am used to using high quality component systems with some really BIG speakers and HUGE bass capability... so there were some adaptions I had to make with my expectations)
I tend to carry them to whatever room in my house l might be occupying for a period of time....and they have worked well for that purpose....and the device l connect them to is in the same room as well.
The speakers did not maintain connectivity over a longer distance....and at a space of about 25-30 feet the connection often failed. I had hoped to use them outside in the yard more often....but with distance parameters they seemed to work best inside. Later on l acquired larger bluetooth speakers that solved the distance issue.... but also a bigger price tag. Not a lot of surprises here.
Bottom line: great little speakers... not a lot of distance capability. To my mind: they seemed to take a long time to charge up.... and the charge dwindled fairly quickly. At one point l could get several hours of use on a charge.....but over time they were so slow to charge and so quick at flooding battery power....that l basically have stopped using them now.
No regrets, though: they "are what my they are".
Have to say though: if these little speakers charged well and held the charge...l probably would never have upgraded to a larger speaker.
I still use the component system when l want really good music listening.

I recently got an Echo Dot and found an even better use for the little JAM speaker so I ordered another one. I can leave this plugged in and it stays connect to the Dot constantly. It doesn't have the best bass, but we have enjoyed telling Alexa to play Christmas music and listening through it. If I want to go sit in another room or go to the basement to work I can just grab the speaker and take it with me. I have a 3800 square foot house over three levels and this thing works everywhere in the house with the exception of one bathroom upstairs on the farthest corner of the house. The echo is on other side of the house so I wasn't really surprised.
For the sounds, range and battery life you can't really go wrong as inexpensive as this thing are. I bought the first on because we were using it around water and I didn't want to be too upset if it got wet and messed up. Works well with Echo and doesn't disconnect as long as you leave it plugged in to charge.
This speaker is LOUD and can handle a single room blaring easily. It is not meant for whole house jamming, use the right tool for the job. The sound is NOT tinny or cheap-and has a killer base for its size. Hard wired in to my iPad, it will play for a half a day at minimum before dying, and on the Bluetooth setting you can get 3-4h out of it. Of course this is all relative to how loud or quiet to the juice used.
When (if ever) I need to replace it, I will definitely buy this little guy again.
Now, of course, there are plethora of BT speakers and very difficult to choose what to buy, specially for small, compact entry level speakers. I travel a lot and I needed a small BT speaker that does not break my wallet. So, I decided to give it a try once more. I believe that last time i bought this for myself was about four years ago. Now four years fast forward, the price has come down about $15.00.
Since i have tried out and owned a lot of smaller and entry types of BT speakers, I had a pretty good idea how this should sound to be competitive against the other compact speakers out on the market. Everything worked good. it looked sharp and I just loved the deep red color and had no trouble connecting with my phone and computer. After listening for a while and comparing with other similar price range speakers, I have realized that JAM has not made the improvement on the sound quality of this BT speaker. Bit hollow and tinny sound signature without tight bass.
It WAS a very good BT speaker 4 years ago, but technology of BT has improved tremendously and Jam has left behind.
There are many other speakers that has better sound, longer battery life, even with smaller foot print. So, I decided to return and give others a try.

Sadly this product, purchased in Oct 2018 has just died. It won't charge or stay on.
Before this it has been definitely better than no speaker and has fairly decent volume for a single speaker eg for watching TV on laptop and listening to music or talks on phone. It has more bass than your laptop or phone speakers which is better experience for listening.
Major annoyance that would have stopped me getting another one even if it had lasted is the VERY LOUD voice saying POWERING ON & POWERING OFF & READY TO PAIR. Omg soooo loud and nothing you can do to reduce it. Used to muffle speaker with pillow to avoid disturbing others or going deaf myself 😅🔊
Just annoyed it only lasted a year and a half! Will see if they will replace it but seems unlikely as had for more than a year. Didn't even use it that much.

Sound was good so I am very disappointed that it no longer works.
