I wanted a case to protect my Nexus but also something that was functional. Enter the Exact. Ok, let's be honest, the exact same device is available under a dozen or so different brand names. I picked up the Exact because at the time, it was the cheapest on on Amazon.

Pros:
1.) The fit as a shell is very good. It snaps right onto my Nexus without an issue or wiggle.
2.) 55 hours of use on a charge, according to the spec.
3.) Uses the same charger as the Nexus, a micro-USB.
4.) Outer shell face is a very close match in look and feel to the back of the Nexus. Not perfect though, as you can see the different in pinhole spacing and feel the different materials used.
5.) Pairing was no problem whatsoever.
6.) 3000 words typed so far and not a single missed input.
7.) Stable with the Nexus inserted in landscape position. Does not tip backwards easily.

Cons:
1.) Does not come with it's own charger.
2.) Overall build quality isn't great. For example, the keys themselves are not aligned well (see photo, especially around the F key). This is particularly a problem with my left arrow key, as it allows the edge of the key to catch on the lip of the frame and get stuck there.
3.) Materials used for frame aren't very strong. When the Nexus is inserted, the plastic of the frame visibly bows under the weight of the Nexus, especially if the Nexus is in portrait.
4.) Not as stable as I'd prefer if the Nexus is inserted in portrait position, much more easily tipped over backwards.

Also of note, the angle of the Nexus is fixed when inserted in the Exact. This may be great for some, but not for others, depending on the seating and resting surface height differences.

On the the whole, I'm happy with my purchase, but in honesty I'm not thrilled with it. For the price, it was a good deal, but not the greatest thing in the world.

This is my video review of the Exact Mobile Bluetooth Keyboard for Nexus 7. In the video, I unbox the keyboard for the first time, explain some pros and cons, and do some test runs on a few apps.

*** NOTE: I didn't mention the "Smart Cover" issue that some other buyers may be experiencing. I do not have this issue, but I don't know if having a custom ROM installed is the reason why. Be wary of this, because it seems to be a possibility.

I like so many of you were prepared to purchase this product with many of the stated flaws.
1. No Tab Key
2. Requirement to remove magnet from inside.
3. Put up with some uneven keys.
4. And one I haven't heard often, no function keys

Instead I received in one day, should have been a two day shipment a beautiful keyboard with none of the "flaws".
Unit I received on the box is a model B00ADRLJ6 this is from the box, don't see a number on the unit.
1. Unit has tab key directly above Q key.
2. Don't know if they removed the magnet or not, but keyboard doesn't shut down my Nexus 7.
3. Quality for the money is extremely good all of the keys are aligned properly.
4. It has a Fn key just like a laptop, that you hold and press with a key in the numbers row

Needless to say, I am more than happy with this keyboard, as I was prepared to buy the "External Keyboard" program. I would have opened up the Keyboard, and removed or moved the magnet to the proper location. The Function Key, and the overall quality of the unit for the money is remarkable.

The keys look like the characters, are just screen printed on which may be a problem over time. I didn't purchase this keyboard to write the great American Novel on. Just to solve a problem I would have traveling with another Bluetooth Keyboard I already have.

This seller has the updated version of this item, which is great. I'm typing this review on the keyboard and my nexus right now.

First things first: This product has been updated spectacularly. It now has a tab key (above the q, so not in it's normal place but still very accessible), back and home keys that work flawlessly with the nexus, also function keys for volume, pause, play, etc. Also, the nexus no longer goes to sleep when placing it in the keyboard. The typing area measures just 7" by 2.75" but it works. I have large hands but average width fingers and I have no problems using this device. Obviously, you aren't going to be as fast as a full keyboard, but you are so much faster than when using the onscreen keyboard. That said, this is not a keyboard for touch typing. It is simply too small. I type with my index fingers, and after a couple hours of use I am used to the keyboard and able to use it without staring at the keyboard and at a decent 40 words per minute (I get about 60 on my laptop). I use it to annotate PDF's and read ebooks for my college classes and it works excellently. Keys have a good pressure threshold and they are all very secure and responsive.

It is a great cover for the device as well. It holds onto the nexus securely and it protects the screen. It about doubles the width of the nexus 7 but the nexus with the keyboard on it still fit nicely in the Case Logic sleeve I got. The keyboard looks like brushed aluminum, but it is plastic. Very stable and well constructed.

Only downside of this keyboard in my opinion: when you put the nexus in here in portrait mode, it is topheavy and touching the screen will cause it to tip backwards and possibly topple.
